Mauve watched Jael go after exchanging a few words with Jean. She hadn't heard what was said as she wasn't close enough to them, and her plants mostly had her attention. She wanted to be done as soon as possible.
"Princess," Jean said as he got close enough.
"Good morning, Jean." She looked at him with a smile on her face as she watered the last of the plants.
"I see you're quite busy this morning. What a lovely garden you have."
"Thank you, Jean." She placed the watering can in the corner and wiped her hands on her dress. Not a good move, but she didn't want to risk the chance of getting dirt on Jean.
"Is that poppies?" He asked as he got closer, pointing to a set of plants.
"You recognize them from just the leaves?" She asked with surprise in her voice.
"Yes, it is my wife's favorite flower," he responded.
"She has great taste," Mauve said with a bright smile. "I am sorry you can't see them bloom."
