Chapitre 54: Chapter- 54 who was that.........
When David saw Eva going to Jerry's territory, he was concerned about her.
He was unable to understand, why suddenly duties were changed, being restless, he went to check in the office, and was shocked to find out that it was Eva's request to change the duty.
David understood that she is up to something. He was furious, asked them to change it immediately, and said that he would inform Eva personally.
He went out there and called Eva, but she was not reachable....he tried again and again but, there was no response...he was tensed, so he went to Jerry's office to check on her.
Jerry came back to his office with coffee to drink with Eva but, she wasn't there, he tried calling her but there was no response, so he started looking around for her, David was on his way to Jerry's office but, he found Jerry, in the corridor, looking here and there as if searching for someone. David asked him,
"Have you seen Eva ?"
Jerry was puzzled and said,
" no sir even I am searching for her, I was out for work, and I left her in my office room just now but when I returned she was gone, I have been calling her but her phone is not reachable",
David was afraid if something wrong happened to her, he panicked and both of them started searching every room....but they couldn't find her. David saw the nameplate, Suzie, and went inside to check, but there was no one around, so he came back.
He was fearful now, and his mind was not at ease, he tried calling her again, but no nothing..... Jerry said,
"Sir let's go to the security office, we can see CCTV footage, maybe we can find something",
David got a call from Eva's phone, he answered it immediately,
"where are you Eva, is this some kind of joke?"
but a different voice spoke,
" she is on the terrace".
David ran to the terrace, and Jerry followed him,
"where are you going sir, was that Eva, you just talked to...?"
David didn't answer and kept running, he reached the terrace but there was no one around he went forward, shouting her name,
"Eva... Eva....where are you?"
Jerry bend to see beneath the bench, and shouted,
"Sir,.. she is there",
They both ran to her, she was unconscious, and her phone was smashed beside her, David checked on her, put her phone in his pocket, and carried her to a room nearby Jerry was shocked to see all this, he asked,
" Sir, did Eva call you, or someone else?"
David said,
" Even I don't know who it was, a lady who called from Eva's phone and then smashed it, but I can't understand why?"
" Is she fine, should I get a CT scan for her?" asked Jerry, concerning about her,
David noticed that she was wearing Era's coat, so he understood that it was Era who fainted, and said,
" Jerry go get some water, and something to eat maybe she has a low glucose level"
Jerry said " Yes sir " and rushed outside,
David removed her coat but she was still unconscious, he waited for a while, Ben called him,
"Is Eva there with you, I couldn't reach her?"
David said everything to him and he rushed there. when Ben arrived there, he saw Eva was still unconscious and asked,
" What exactly happened David, isn't she with you then, how did she end up here?"
"She changed her duty, and was working here today, I was worried, so I came to check on her,"
said, David.
Jerry came running with a bottle of water and some porridge. He saw them both discussing something and was worried about Eva he asked,
" Is something wrong with her, David sir did you call Ben sir here,
I too think it's better to get an expert's opinion",
Ben turned back and said,
" David I think it's better to go for further tests,"
and he took her away from there and conducted all the scans and tests, those all were normal. He was relaxed a bit, but David was not.
" call me when she wakes up, come on Jerry, let's go ",
said David and walked away with Jerry, while walking back Jerry said,
"Ben sir is very professional, he even carried her for further examination"
David looked at him annoyingly, and said,
" He was not carrying his patient, Jerry, she is his girlfriend"
Jerry stopped and was devastated,
David deliberately said that because he wanted to keep him away from her.
"Sir, I have some work, I'll meet you later," said Jerry and left with his head to the ground.
David went back to his room, James called him,
" Hey, how are you now",
"I am fine Sir", said David,
"I tried to call you but couldn't reach you, what's happened, you said you'd come to meet me, but you didn't show up. not even a call"
asked James,
" Sorry to make you worried sir, but I met with an accident, that day, and my phone was smashed, so I couldn't inform you, let's meet at lunch", he said.
" Accident.....!!, Are you fine?... Did you get hurt?" James said expressing his concern.
" No I am fine, it was just a small accident, see you in the afternoon Sir", said David hanging up his phone.
Though David was not sure he started doubting that James has something to do with his accident.
Eva regain consciousness, and saw Ben sitting beside her, holding her hand, with closed eyes, she said,
" Ben, how did I end here, what happened....?"
Ben was happy to see her, and hugged her,
" Why do you always make me concerned, ... when will you stop making trouble?" he seriously shouted at her,
she asked again,
" can you tell me what happened exactly, please, Ben, I need to know"
" you have been missing for two hours then finally David found you on the terrace, unconscious...do you have any idea how devastated we were....why did you go to the terrace?" he asked furiously...
Eva clearly remembered that she was in that bathroom when she wore the coat, but can't remember anything about how she ended up on the terrace. She was puzzled why Era went there, and what exactly happened, she looked for her phone, to check if Era left any message,
" my phone...my phone..where is my phone, Ben " she searched for it but couldn't find it.
Ben said,"..hey wait, let me ask David, maybe he knows where it is"
Ben called him but he didn't respond, David was sitting in front of James at a lunch meeting.
James asked,
" So David what were you talking about?, I think you told me about some case, my case, what is that?"
" Yes Sir, actually I found a file in my office, and when I go through it, I found some things out of order, the medication used was so different from the case condition,"
David was observing his facial expressions while saying that, but there was no special reaction,
James asked
"where is the file David, can I see that,"
David said,
" no sir I lost it during the accident,"
" oh...how... David, that could have been a great help.., but, that's fine, I am glad that you are fine, do you remember any details of the case?",
said James curiously,
" I do remember some things but I am not sure if it is correct," said David,
" we can check that, tell me whatever you know", said James.
" A case from three years back, I think her name was Suzie," David said,
James panicked when he heard that name, he thought for a while
and then said,
"David, I would like to give you some advice as your senior, "
David was puzzled," sir, what is it?"
" you better stay away from this case, there are so many higher-ups involved in this case, I don't want you to make trouble for yourself ", James looked very restless after hearing that name, but the advice he gave to David brought him in a dilemma, it was hard for him to understand James's involvement in that malpractice.
