Chapitre 13: The Palace Tour

A look of confusion marred her features. Rowan swallowed hard involuntarily as he discretely scrutinised the woman before him.

Sadly, it wasn't that much discrete for Natalia to notice it. At first, she felt offended that he was sizing her up. However, she noted how his gaze wasn't tainted with traces of lust.

Instead, it was one of admiration and acknowledgement. She inferred from his appraisal what it was about. The man was probably ensuring that his King's mate was worthy of the title.

She scoffed, not trying to hide the traces of irritation in her eyes. For a moment there, she had forgotten where she was and tried to enjoy herself.

Who was she kidding? This would be her life from this day forth. One where she would be judged by strangers who knew nothing about her.

A life without the freedom to fly as she used to. She was now a caged bird who would be placed under the microscope for everyone to observe. What a troublesome life!
