Chapitre 40: The Sibling
Rei cannot reported Andy to police, because he got no proof of his act poisoning his food. He also forgot to record his confession. What he could do for now was to avoid him with any cost.
While contemplating his next move, Rei heard a shifted and the sound of chairs being scrapped on the floor. He raised his head and met with two people in front of him.
They were the couple that sat next to him. Rei predicted the woman to be older than him, but can't be more than 25 in age. While the man looks younger. Maybe around Rei's age.
"What do you want?" Rei asked suspiciously.
"Can we talk?" The woman asked with her gentle smile.
Rei considered his options. He was quite for a full minute, observing both people's intention.
"Okay" Rei nodded.
The woman then sat in front of Rei, while the man pulled another chair and took a seat beside him.
"I forgot to introduce ourselves. I'm Rhea, while he is Ezio. What's your name?" Rhea did the speaking between the two.
"I'm Rei." He introduced himself.
"You just got out of the System, am I correct?" Ezio suddenly asked straight to the point.
However, Rei did not want to spill the beans.
Rhea elbowed Ezio's stomach. He grimaced in pain.
"What?" Ezio hissed ignored by her.
"I'm sorry for this man's lack of attitude. Actually, we were just transmigrated into something called Villain System. And we were pretty sure that we have met you there." Rhea explained with lower voice.
"Who?" Rei asked.
"I was the Achlys, while this one was Sedit."
Rei already guessed that the man has similar necklace as one of the character in the System. But turned out he was the real person. While for the woman as Achlys, he was quite surprised.
"How could you so sure that it was me?" Rei asked.
Ezio rolled his eyes.
"Please ignore him. He is that type of man that you always want to punch." Rhea assured Rei.
"Actually, don't you aware that you got similar facial feature in the System with your own in this reality?" Rhea started explaining.
Rei thought to his three times transmigrating, and yes, he got basically similar facial features with his own in the three of them.
"Then look at us. We got different faces depend on our transmigrating character."
Rei observed their faces carefully and acknowledged that what Rhea said was accurate.
"So?" Rei asked.
"So, didn't it feel strange? It's like you are always the MC within the System. While others were maybe NPCs or additional characters that were added for the story."
Rei contemplating this information.
"How many times have you transmigrated?" Rei asked
"This was my second time. While it was the the first time for Ezio." Rhea answered.
"Could it be, we have met before the last transmigrating?" Rei became curious.
Rhea nodded.
"The first time, I was the royal head guard."
"It was you!"
"Yes. You can't guess that burly man would be me? Me too." She laughed.
"Then, what makes you transmigrating. Or how the first time you met the System?" Rei now wanted to look for as much clues as he could get about the System.
"I'm on my death bed 3 years ago. Then a System suddenly appeared out of nowhere and offered me a chance to survive my illness. However, I should complete the assigned task."
"What task?"
"My first task, was to help you escape." She smiled.
Rei widen his eyes.
"No way!"
"Yes, and it was quite hard in my part. I am the royal's lead guard anyway. It will risk my safety in the System. In addition, we are not allowed to act out of the character." Rhea complained.
Ezio patted her shoulder in silent.
Rei remembered something.
"So, you've also met the man with covered face?"
"I saw him. First, I want to know what he wanted. After making sure he won't do anything funny, I let him be." She shrugged his shoulder.
"What prize did you get after completing the task?"
"I could feel my health became better, but not as healthy normal people. However, along the second time, I felt that my body became stronger and stronger." Rhea concluded.
'So, people was assigned with different task.' Rei thought to himself.
"While this man beside me, is my younger brother. He just out of the hospital today." Rhea patted the younger man hands.
"He was undergone heart surgery two weeks ago. But, his condition became worse. However, after seeing him in the System, I was thankful."
Rhea casted a sad smile.
"However, his condition is still weak."
He glanced towards Rei.
"When seeing you just now, I got a glimmer of hope. Since we never know when or how we got transmigrated, I am quite restless to have my brother to experience another transmigration to make him better. However, I got a hunch that you should know something about this system."
Rei kept his mouth shut.
"What if I said that I also don't have any clues about this System?"
"It can't be, right?" She looked with solemn expression.
"I'm sorry, but I am the same clueless as you all." Rei looked regretful.
"Then, how could you treated different from the rest of us?" Ezio ran out of patience. His hands slammed the table. The waitress that just wanted to deliver Rei's order stopped in her tracked and looked at him in annoyance.
Rhea pulled his brother down and looked at Ezio in exasperation.
"I apologize for my brother's rude acts. Then, I thought we should leave you to have your undisturbed lunch." She glanced towards the waitress.
"And please, if you got some information, could you have us informed? Here is my number." She took out a piece of paper out of her hand bag and jotted her number.
Rei accepted the paper.
The couple then excused themselves and leaved the table. Followed by the waitress who served his food.
"Are they disturbing you?" The waitress asked in concern.
Rei smiled and shook his head.
"No. They are my acquaintance." Rei answered.
She nodded her head.
"I see. Then, please, enjoy the food."
She then returned to the kitchen counter. Leaving Rei with more questions.
He glanced towards the sibling who were paying the food in the cashier table. Rhea caught him and waved.
"Wish to see you soon." She mouthed.
