Alongside Professor Su Qingyun, he was considered the most likely candidate to succeed Professor Liang from Xiehe Hospital as the next Chair of the Chinese Medical Association Orthopedics Branch.

Professor Qin received the first-class National Science and Technology Progress Award. As a leader in orthopedics, and particularly spine surgery, he devised a new osteotomy method for the treatment of severe scoliosis.

In scoliosis treatment, he and Su Qingyun from Nandu Affiliated Hospital One, coordinate and complement each other. He also recently became a new member of the China Academy of Engineering together with Professor Su Qingyun.
