Jimmy stared up at the weasel with hate, the man seem to only snort at Jimmy's stupidity. "Did you really think I would just keel over and listen to you after you eradicated my gang you bastard! They were my friends, my family and you just murdered them in cold blood for what? A few bucks? You are pathetic."
Jimmy only laughed at him. "Cold blood? Friends? Family? Hahaha, no one is going to believe that bullshit! Why are you still even acting at this point huh? But man you got some good fucking acting. I just got one question before I kick the bucket, how did you get passed my ICE? I swear that shit is top of the line."
"I started hacking my way into you three when we first met, you just didn't notice sense I didn't use any lethal programs, I just ripped a hole big enough so that I could inject the malware whenever I needed to."
The weasel dropped the questionnaire and interrogated Jimmy. "Who is your employer? What do they need ST-00 for?"
Jimmy only grinned and spat in the weasel's face in defiance. The weasel wiped the blood from his face as he stood up and told Jimmy "You want a painful death, fine. I will give you such a painful death that my name will haunt you as you burn in hell, remember it. I am Dio-"
Before he could finish Jimmy busted up laughing, wheezing really because of his failing body. "Dio? Really? Like from the anime? Man that is too fucking funny! Yeah send me on my way, Dio!"
Dio just let the virtual malware he injected him with kill him so he wouldn't have to deal with his mocking, and turned to Ben who was still in a trance thanks to the ST-00 chip. "Just because your mind is sentient now doesn't mean your body is."
"Now then, ahem, Ilya bot 11032042 shut down and eject foreign chip from socket." Dio ordered but the access commands were overridden by the ST-00 chip.
Dio hummed in intrigue. "Never mind I guess you are one rare specimen now thanks to that chip….it makes me want it even more." Dio walked up to the struggling Ben and was about to eject the chip before Ben's arm shot out grabbing Dio by the face and pulling his head off!
Now all that was left in the room was four corpses and one robot, due to the absence of hostiles the ST-00 defense protocol shutdown letting Ben back in control, startling him when he got out of the trance.
[Hostile intent eliminated, resuming download]
Ben saw the words across the screen as he got up and inspected the scene he was just thrown into from death.
What greeted him was a decapitated man, a blond haired man stewing a pool of blood, half a corpse embedded in the wall, and finally a ginger haired fellow with a bullet wound to the back of the head.
"Well.....shit....the first thing that happens when I come back from the dead is dead people.....kind of ironic..."
Thanks to the shitty world Ben lives in, he has been mostly desensitized by dead bodies and the like. Ben left the room to find a computer room that had been scanning the ST-00 chip previously.
When Ben glanced at the computer his robotic eye shrunk with realization. The computer was being traced back and soon the Net Defense force would be on the way. "Shit if they discover me...."
He looked down at his body. What greeted him was a metal exoskeleton that stood well over seven feet tall! "Great, I am so boned! How am I supposed to hide this giant ass body, don't even mention the fact that I am a robot!"
He then got an idea, and it would buy time for a few hours! "I just have to build a fortress of ICE around the area strong enough to give me a head start!"
He got straight to work pulling out his connector cord and plugging straight into the local net through the computer. He worked fast completing computations in personal record breaking time.
When he was done with it, a maze of encryption codes, dead ends, and false ports appeared in the local net, slowing down the net defense force tremendously!
"I got time! Now to scavenge-" Ben stopped as he glanced at the calendar. "…..Ten years huh…."
But all he did was sigh and get back to work. His time in nothingness was not for naught as his mental fortitude for control was strong, the only thing that could shake it would be his family and morality.
….
Ben appeared in the room of dead bodies first kneeling next to Bobby. "Man, a generation VII railgun, even that guy on the bridge only had a generation IV! Though that was ten years ago….hmm the barrel seems to have gone through some kind of literal meltdown, how much energy did you release my guy…"
Ben disconnected Bobby's cyberware and continued on his tight timetable for parts.
When he was done he went back to the computer room placing all of the parts he scavenged in the last thirty minutes.
"A cyber-arm railgun variant, potential energy joint converter, and a Satoshi MK.III, damn I take back any thoughts about the robot body, human body wins in terms of cyberware…damn."
The amount of cyberware one human could have varies from person to person but each of them still had a shit ton of choices! Each organic system had options for cyberware, it was insane!
Ben then dismantled the railgun and joint first, configuring the two into a single right arm, perfect for his now missing right arm, only problem was it was a tad too big and made him look beefy in one arm more than the other. After that was done he plugged in the Satoshi MK.III into his cyberdeck socket, effectively upping the power of his RAM making breaching into foreign networks easier.
And finally he decreased his height by a foot, as he hated being so tall since it disorientated him.
After that stole some clothes from the corpses and ripped out the projectors inside, reconfiguring them and attaching them to the base of his neck. Once he turned it on, what appeared was Ben's head, chest, and shoulders in his old appearance, and he stared at his reflection reminiscing in old better times of when he was still.....fleshy.
He then took the remaining clothes and completed his disguise. Decked out in a black leather jacket, black shirt, black gloves, and black boots, Ben looked at the reflection with disgust. "What the fuck is that monstrosity! I look like some kind of emo kid just without the makeup, there's not enough color damnit!"
Then he changed the outfit and what appeared was a bright red leather jacket, black shirt, navy blue pants, white gloves, and black boots. "I wonder if Quicksave would be alright with my fashion sense? Knowing him, he would be decked out in lots of blue and purple..."
Ben then connected to the computer port one last time to dig for anything about his resurrection. "ST-00 [resurrection sequence], huh? These parameters are specifically catered towards bipedal robots, hmmm....I wonder if I can change that."
Wiping the computer, nabbing the hand cannon that Dio carried, and disrupting the nearby cameras, Ben jumped out of the window and rushed down the maze like alleyways of London.
"Hmm the only work I could do would have to be quiet yet secretive....where the hell am I gonna find that-'' Then he facepalmed himself as he just realized what kind of people he killed were. "Mercenary! The only problem would be building cred for myself sense I am basically a solo and that'll make it even harder..." Ben murmured as he formulated another plan, this time one for the long-term.
"Those mercs had to have been there for the chip or in this case me, but why? I mean why am I even on this chip?! I am not some important person. I mean I am great and all but-" Ben stopped both mentally and physically as he re-ran that thought again and again, "Mom....she would do that...but can she create such a convoluted piece of tech, what am I saying of course she can! She had a fucking off brand terminator come after her for her skills! The only question left is why I am here and not some corporate laboratory."
Ben put that thought on hold as he saw three suspiciously cyberware kitted out folks just looking for a conversation! "Those fine folks look like they need a conversation partner, I mean just look at those gloomy faces!"
Ben walked up to three in a dramatic manner bowing with a gentlemen's bow, introducing himself. The three goons just looked up at him, irritated by this nuisance annoying them. "Fuck off buddy or else." Then goon #1 flashed a pistol, threatening Ben.
Bens smiled widened at the threat and even added, "That seems like a great activity to participate in. Would you like to?" The three just looked at Ben like he was a madman, which he kind of was, especially since what they saw was a normal organic human with no cyberware, thanks to Ben's ICE.
"Sure, why not, let's head into the alley, wouldn't want anyone to interrupt us would we?" Then the three led Ben toward an empty alley.
BANG! BANG! BOOM! SCREAM!
Several gunshots, earthquakes, and screams later, Ben reappeared out of the alley finally with a destination.
…..
Back at the building where Ben was dragged back from the dead was four people in black trench coats and glasses searching the area.
The team was led by a woman with fiery red hair that was the opposite of her personality.
A man walked up to his boss and asked, "Boss are you sure we're gonna find anything? I mean none of the intact records left behind were of any worth and the ones suspected of worth are just scrambled jargon. Shouldn't we set up a perimeter?"
The cold woman simply glanced at him before sighing at his incompetence. "And what would that do, huh? We don't have any physical details about the fugitive nor do we know if they're alone, so answer me, what would setting up a perimeter do huh?"
The man didn't back down. "Then we could quarantine off this local net and track the residue data from the port in which the grid was hacked and once the target leaves the area, he would pop up."
The woman nodded, "Not a bad idea, if it wasn't for the fact that we were dealing with someone who can delay the entirety of England's Net Defense force with a single ICE fortress made in under ten minutes. They have thrown the residue onto nearby networks to erase any digital footprints left behind."
The man didn't seem to be embarrassed by his inexperience and nodded to his boss and got back to work. For the next hour the squad of England's NDF scurried around the building searching for anything even remotely suspicious and their search paid off.
"Boss got something over here, come take a look!" When the woman arrived, what greeted her was Dio's body or what was left of it as the NDF ripped out his cyberware.
"What did you find?"
"This man's created malware was recently released and we are tracking it's connection of which we assume has left traces on the fugitive who created the ICE fortress.....boss?" The woman walked over to Jimmy's body and plugged herself into his bloodied port silently, after she was done she got up and walked over to the computer inserted the memory she savaged from Dio's malware.
"ST-00 chip huh...guessing what was on the chip is the thing responsible for those four dead bodies. I wonder who's tech it is. I could have gotten more but that man's malware was so fucking primitive, damnit." Angry that her only lead was a piece of tech that was dangerous just knowing about it, she walked away to update her team.
…..
Ben glanced up at the bright neon sign that spelled out 'Camelot' and glanced back down at the phone graciously given to him by goon #1 that had the GPS on it. "Is this the right place? I swear if those bastards tricked I'm gonna give them another 'conversation' they'll never forget!" Ben said resolutely as he walked the establishment.
Once he was down the stairs in the underground floor, Ben walked up to the pair of bouncers covering the entrance with their wide frames.
"Whistle....those are some smoking suits you got there my dudes! Mind telling me where you acquired such fine products? Is it cashmere?" The bouncers stood firmly Infront of Ben blocking his path.
"Don't know you, don't get-" Before the bouncer could finish Ben interrupted, "I'm from Jimmy's crew, we just came back from a job. I would like to inform our employer of our success."
The bouncer's, still suspicious of Ben, were just about to reject him when they got a message.
[Let him in, he's with me]
The bouncer's then cleared the way for Ben, no questions asked. Ben merely continued to smile as he waddled his way into the underground, cybernetic infested bar of Camelot.
"Oi, Jimmy's goon, over here." A woman sitting at the bar called Ben over from the cover of her large witch hat.
"Nice hat you got there, is it for sale?"
"Hah, nope, not for sale, though I would like to know where this chip's information Jimmy's got is. He does have it right, Jimmy's 'goon'?" The woman glanced up from her hat grinning at Ben like she could see through him.
Ben merely continued on smiling. "Totally!"
