Chapitre 44: ~I’m Back 2~

...

'Welcome back Huno, you both must be tired you should come in,' the old looking lady said, putting an end to the continuous questions. 'Thank you, sister Magdalene,' Huno said. She turned and Huno followed behind her immediately. Sister Sarai placed the bracelet back in Luna's hand, used her right arm to hook Luna's left and said, 'come tell me how Huno has been,'. She pulled Luna quickly and followed Huno closely. The other sisters wanted to ask who she was, but sister Sarai already dragged her away. They asked the young adults and were dumbfounded by the reply they got.

Soon everyone got in, Huno and sister Magdalene sat opposite each other. Sister Sarai made Luna sit beside Huno while everyone else stood as a sign of respect for sister Magdalene. Well, everyone except the little kids who knew almost nothing. Betty sat on Huno's lap, staring at Luna and smiling. 'You must have gone through a lot out there,' sister Magdalene said. 'Yeah, at first, but later on it was better. My experience wasn't as harsh as you all think,' Huno said. 'That's a relief then, welcome back again,' sister Magdalene said and asked, 'and who is this fine long lady?'

'Sister, this is Luna, my wife,' Huno replied looking at Luna who was carrying Betty from him. 'Luna this is sister Magdalene, the head of the orphanage,' he added. Luna looked up and bowed her head, 'it's nice to meet you ma'am,' she said. 'It's nice to meet you too, it seems you are taking care of him well. When he left, he wasn't smiling brightly as he is now, thank you young lady,' sister Magdalene said. 'It's alright ma'am if I don't take care of him, who will,' Luna said and smiled.

'We should get you guys something to eat,' sister Magdalene said. 'I'll take care of that,' sister Sarai said. 'Mother in... sister Sarai I'll follow you,' Luna said and got up with Betty in her arms. 'No, sit, I'll have it ready in no time,' sister Sarai said. 'I insist, sister Sarai,' Luna said.

'You should let her, she won't stop unless you do,' Huno said and got up. 'Sister Magdalene, there's someone I need to visit,' he added. 'Sure, go, go, she's waiting for you,' sister Magdalene said. Huno turned to Luna and said, 'I'm going to see senior sister I'll be back soon, you should get to know everyone,'. Luna walked up to him and gave him a peck on his cheeks. 'Okay, take your time over there, don't worry about me. I'll get mother-in-law to teach me how to make your people's dishes,' Luna said and rushed to follow sister Sarai who sighed. 'Haha mother-in-law, sister Sarai congratulations,' sister Magdalene laughed and said. 'I'll be back everyone,' Huno said and walked out as the kids yelled, 'okay,'.

...

'Hey, I'm back,' Huno said, standing in front of a grave. 'I'll be leaving soon, just thought I should drop by,' he added. He breathed heavily, stared at the dark sky before walking away. After over thirty minutes of walking, he arrived at an abandoned, broken building. He walked over to the back where a broken fence wall stood and sighed. At the other side of the fence was a bed of roses, the roses waved under the gentle flow of the cool breeze. Huno jumped over the fence and sat down, staring at the sky and not saying a word.

...

~In A Kitchen~

'It's quite late, Huno isn't back yet, should we go check on him?' sister Sarai asked, stirring a pot. 'No, he'll be fine,' Luna said. 'Are you sure?' another sister asked. 'Yeah, sister Lily, he won't be back for some days,' Luna said. 'What?' all the sisters and young ladies in the kitchen yelled. 'Why?' sister Sarai asked. 'Mother... Sister Sarai he hasn't seen senior sister Mia for years now, he will definitely spend a long time with her,' Luna replied. 'If he doesn't I'll kick him back there,' she added. Everyone laughed as she continued, 'if it was me he left for years and came back just to spend a night and planned to leave I'll make sure I tie him up,'. 'Oh, oh, it seems Huno has a bold woman, I guess he can't bully you then,' a sister said. 'He sometimes does, but senior sister keeps him in check,' Luna replied. 'Oh, he has another wife?' sister Sarai asked. 'No, no, senior sister is big brother's wife, husband has a sworn brother,' Luna said. 'They treat each other equally,' she added. 'Sworn brothers? Like an oath to be brothers?' sister Sarai asked and Luna nodded.

'Where are you from?' a sister asked. 'It's a very far and remote place,' Luna replied. 'What about your parents? Did they accept Huno?' sister Sarai asked. 'I never knew them, I was forgotten in a place and grew up alone for years until Huno brought me out. Over the years, I forgot almost everything about myself,' Luna said and tasted the dish on fire. 'Oh Lord, sorry about that,' sister Magdalene said with a sad face. 'Senior, it's alright. My past may be forgotten, but my present is lovely and filled with lots of fun and smiles,' Luna said. 'I have a family now, and we have a place of our own and lots of people under us, haha while the rest of the family worked hard to get stronger, and I played all day. Huno built an empire, a well fortified fortress for us, I later had to train, so I won't be left behind,' Luna added absent-mindedly.

Everyone was stunned and stared at her as she continued, 'though there may be a great battle for us to face, but who cares? We have each other and we are well-prepared. I'm going to protect every one no matter what,'. Luna turned the dish, still absent-minded, she was just saying what she thought and felt at this moment.

'If that way is dangerous, why don't you all come here?' sister Magdalene asked, breaking the awkward silence. 'Coming will put everyone here in danger, people will be taken as slaves and the weak will die, only the strong and the lucky will have a chance to survive. Over there, strength is everything and wealth comes next. Almost nothing else matters. With wealth, you can have almost anything, but without the strength to protect it your wealth will be nothing,' Luna replied still absent-mindedly.

'Oh, and how strong is Huno?' sister Sarai asked. 'Currently he is pretty strong though he has never had a life and death battle haha,' Luna said and laughed. 'How strong are you?' sister Sarai asked. Luna smiled, 'way stronger, but I can't beat him. There's a complicated situation that caused that, and it's going to be hard to explain,' Luna replied. 'Oh so how strong are the other members of the family?' sister Sarai asked. 'Umm they have the same strength as Huno though more experienced in a fight,' Luna replied and blinked severally. 'I'm sorry I talked too much,' Luna said, coming back to her senses. Everyone laughed, 'it seems you really care about your family,' sister Magdalene said. 'One hundred percent, they all mean a lot,' Luna said. 'I'm happy to know Huno is in good hands,' sister Sarai said.

'We should call it a night, we've made a lot,' she added, removing the pot from the gas. 'Mother no, I want to learn a lot before Huno comes back,' Luna said, holding her hand. 'But we've made several already, who's going to eat all of it? Besides, we are almost out of pots,' sister Sarai said. 'We are also wasting a lot of ingredients,' she added. 'Mother, you don't have to worry, the kids will be happy to have a feast tomorrow. When the pots run out, we can call it a night, and you don't have to worry about ingredients. Tomorrow I'll have it restocked,' Luna said. 'But...,'. 'Mother, please, do you want another person to snatch my husband?' Luna interrupted her and all the sisters and young ladies started laughing. Sister Sarai turned to look at sister Magdalene for help, who laughed and acted as if she didn't notice her pleas. 'You are just like Huno, hmm, tomorrow we continue, I promise, and call me sister Sarai,' sister Sarai said with a little harsh tone. Luna bent her head and replied, 'yes ma'am, I'm sorry,'. 'It's alright, tomorrow is Saturday a weekend so tomorrow we continue, and you don't have to worry, no one will steal Huno from you,' sister Sarai said.

'She's really acting like a mother-in-law, don't you think?' a sister asked. 'I thought I was the only one who noticed,' another said, and everyone laughed. 'Alright, let's call it a night,' sister Magdalene said. 'You guys clean up and head to bed, sister Sarai you take Luna to bed,' she added. 'Yes ma, come with me Lulu,' sister Sarai said. 'Haha, she's really acting like one,' a sister said. 'Alright, alright, let's go,' sister Magdalene laughed and said.
