Drunken saga:
Lala opens her apartment door after work the same day. She enters inside and put her bag down on the sofa, then continues to Jack's room. Curiosity all over her face, without knocking she pushes the door to open. "Entering my room without knocking is an unforgivable offense," Jack says. "The last time I remember knocking, no one opened the door for me," she replies. He then stands up, removing headphones off the head in the process, walking a few steps towards her and says in a very apologetic voice, "forgive me sister for worrying you last night, I promise never to worry you again." "It's alright" Lala responds, "I was also not careful enough." Jack walks fast to close the distance in between each other and shares a very affectionate hug. "I missed you so much sister," he says. "Life is very hard without you, I missed you the most," she replied.
Earlier before:
"He didn't call to inform me. Neither was he picking my calls. How can I forgive such a reckless person!" Lala talks disappointed.
"Officer stone will be here in return of your phone" Mr Yang says. "I was sure it got lost in the night" Lala says, "good to know it's with the police though." She once again tranquil after receiving this information. " Come to think of it, how did the officer know my home location?!" she inquisitively wonder. "Because I didn't give him the directions" Mr Yang says to Lala, "Let's ask him on phone delivery." He gives a thought.
This conversation continues between Lala and Mr Yang as they enjoy a breakfast meal at the table.
"I suggest you don't work for today" Mr Yang says, " it's been a hell of a night to you I think It's healthier if you get enough sleep." "Besides, I want to be around my sweetheart so she doesn't get in another mess again," passionately he talks. Lala smiles while she leans on his shoulder. "Is my wish too" she responds, " but if not me, no one is going to take good care of mom today." Lala compassionately says. " I promise that immediately am done with work, I will come direct to you. You decide how you're going to handle the rest," she speaks in assurance.
"Alright, I will be waiting on you if you say so," he corresponds with a greedy smile.
"Officers at the police station including officer Stone are holding a conversation during break time. "Amazing how a person is announced missing yet is in our custody," one of the patrol officers says. "A 24 hour mission accomplished in seconds, wow!" another officer supplements. "for your information, who ever arrested the young lady is alleged to make a statement" officer Stone says, " it's very important for our department's safety." Noise in the room raises as officers begin to mammer amongst themselves. "That's ridiculous, " one of the officers who carried out the arrest says. "You know why?" Officer Stone asks after receiving the feed back, "because you didn't use technical senses." "That young lady you kept in cell the whole night is not just an ordinary woman," he mentions in a very serious tone accompanied with a serious face. "The man you identified as a criminal is a cab driver who took responsibility to call the station at night with a statement saying; The young lady hired him in search for her missing brother, " officer stone informs officers in question. "The cab driver continued to say that when he drove off, he didn't go far. He kept his eyes on both of the officers due to how rude you were handling the woman and still according to him, the lady was harassed during the arrest," officer Stone summarises, " your statement is vital in case you have any relevant information."
"Whats wrong with Lala? She's not answering her phone," Dodo says taking her phone off the ear with a sad face. "Someone is at the door please go get it," she instructs the servant after hearing a three times in a row knock. The lady servant walks fast to get the door. "Good afternoon madam," the servant greets Lala who was waiting from outside "Who's that," Dodo yells in question. Lala shows up abruptly. "Sister good afternoon," she greets. " Am sorry for coming one hour late. she says on red eyes. "And you've not been answering your mobile even your eyes are red," she blames her asking, "when will you stop making us worried?" "I actually don't have my phone with me since last night" she explains, " the police has it."
"When did you start cutting deals with police?!" Dodo worriedly asks, "is everything okay?"
"Everything wasn't okay from last night but now that am here, all is well," answering Lala. "I don't like it when you hide your troubles from me. Am your family for god's sake," Dodo talks bitterly. "Didn't mean to but It all happened so fast" Lala says, "I couldn't think properly." "Walking into my brother's bedroom at 11pm and is not in the house, It drove me insane." Emotionally speaking, " Like a mad woman,I ran on the streets with sad memories piling up." "This is how my life ended up in police custody the whole night," Lala explains. "You mean you slept in jail! " Dodo wonders, "I cant believe such a mess went on in your life and am the last person to know. " My fiancée rescued me this morning," she says. "So you told him and didn't tell me!" Dodo continues to talk bitterly. "No! he found out I was missing through my young brother," she explains defensively. "Anyway, am really sorry to hear all this sad news" she sympathizes, "am happy you're here now." Dodo tell Lala if she was the first one to recieve information about her missing, she wouldn't even have been able to swallow a drop of water.
"So tell me, how comes you didn't tell me that you're proposed to?" She asks. The question hits Lala like a fist in the face. "Among all people Dodo, you're someone i will never hide information from," in a sorry voice says Lala, "am conc sure you know." "I don't understand you nowadays" Dodo says, "our connection as sisters is so much breaking apart accordingly." "I don't think it's a good idea to conclude like that sister " she replies, " just that a lot has been going on in your life and some information need to be disclosed at the right time to avoid creating sad emotions." Dodo feels so blamed that she turns to look away from Lala with a very sad face. "Understand that she's now in a relationship" Mom shows up rolling her wheelchair and says, "her future is important too." "Good afternoon mother," Lala sadly greats. "Thought you're not yet here" mom says, "rather she's holding you in a pool of questions." "Not really mom" Lala responds in defence of Dodo, " I've actually come late." "You don't have to say that because I know my daughter very well" Mom refuses to accept saying, " she obsessed with everything going on in your circle." "Dodo please, you should allow Lala to live life beyond her limits" mom says kindly, " she's a grown up now."She breaks it infront of Dodo that it is good to live your life.
"Mom" guiltily Dodo pronounces, "am not against here adventure I just don't like how she has started keeping important issues away from me which she wasn't doing before!" "Did you know she's engaged now" Dodo discloses, " and if not her spending the night in the police cell, I wouldn't have known about it." You mean you got arrested? mom wonders in voice and on face. "How?" She asks. "I was arrested looking for my missing brother at his school in the late night.Mistakenly I was taken as a criminal" Lala tells mother, "but nothing should worry you now that am safe." "Mom, let's talk about the ring on her finger" Dodo talks persistently, I can't believe how such valuable moments take place in her life and am not even involved!" "I saw the ring two days back" mother narrates, "frankly I was happy for you Lala and my thoughts were, you to reveal it to me at your best time just by yourself when super ready. This is why I didn't ask you about it." "Your fiancée might be a well off man" Mom continuously says, "the ring is very expensive." "Do you know any of his relatives, " she asks while Dodo is standing on the side with hands folded. "We've not yet introduced our families," Lala answers. "You're our family, hope you remember that. It's very important now that you're engaged" mother advices and says, "I would like to meet him." "Remember she told us that her boyfriend is her neighbor at the apartment and a gym instructor, " Dodo supplements on mom's words. "According to this ring" mom rolls a wheelchair closer, she touches Lala's hand with the ring, looks at the ring closely and says in a very calm voice, "he might be coming from a wealthy family but he chose to live a simple life if am not mistaken." Lala is quietly moving her eyes in the sockets on mom and back to Dodo while listening to their opinions. She lifts up her head to set her eyes on the complimented ring and gives a caring smile in the course of mom's conversation.
Time flies and its night already. "Lala opens her apartment door after work that very day. She enters inside and put her bag down on the sofa, then continues to Jack's room. Impatiently desiring to know showing all over her face, without knocking she pushes the door to open. "Entering my room without knocking is unforgivable offense," Jack says. "The last time I remember knocking, no one opened the door for me," she replies in relief. He stands up walking a few steps towards her and says, "forgive me sister for worrying you last night, I promise never to worry you again." "It's alright" she responds with a smile, "I was also not careful enough." Jack walks fast to close the distance in between each other and share a very affectionate hug. "I missed you so much sister," he says. "Life is very hard without you, I missed you more," she replied.
"Thanks for being wise and responsible enough to call Mr Yang in the morning. It was a worthy move," she says on a smile. Jack smiles back looking into each other's face. "He gave me something to give you" she tells him, "I wanted to give it to you yesterday." "Can I have it now," he asks. "It's yours so" she responds, "anytime you wish to have it, just come for it."
"Did you hear that," Jack asks inquisitively. Silently, the both concentrate their motion on a listening ear. "Knock knock knock," sound of the door. "Someone is knocking," Lala whispers. "Could be Mr handsome Yang!" Jack wonders. He runs to get the door while his sister comes gently from behind. "Sister it is Madam Dodo," Jack excitedly looks behind, informing his sister immediately his eyes set on Dodo "What a surprise " exclaims Lala, " you're most welcome." Dodo bends down to give Jack a hug. "How are you Jack," she happily asks. Lala hurries to offer a hug. "Are you coming from a date?" She asks, " you smell so honey." Dodo laughs. Look at the mood you're wearing," She flirters. "Allow me to have a sit and relax maybe a glass of wine then we talk then you flirt for as long as you wish," says Dodo. "A glass of wine!" She wonders, "a bottle of wine." Lala walks to on to get a bottle of wine with some two glasses.
Hey Jack how have you been all this while? Dodo asks. I've been alright auntie Dodo" he says, " Long time no see." "You used to visit us everyday, " Jack raises a concern. "Now that sister Lala comes home daily thats why I reduced coming here" she explains, " but dont worry i will be coming to visit you." "I've got something for you" she says as she opens to look into the hand bag, "you can have this."
It's a small box full of candy. "Thank you auntie Dodo, " Jack says excitedly in appreciation. "What are you people enjoying without me," Lala asks jokingly on coming in with a bottle of red wine and two glasses at hand. "See what sister Dodo has got me," Jack speaks showing off the candy box. "Okay, looks like you're a very special person to her," her face full of cheer, she says.
Several stories seem to make their company adorably in laughters as they sip on some red wine and simple snacks. "So you mean it really happened!" Lala feels suprised in her words, "your talent is a marvel to behold." As the conversation continues, a knock on the door is heard. "Are you expecting someone," Dodo asks. Lala makes an innocent face as she stands up to get the door. "Knock knock," another knock on the door. "Am coming," Lala yells a polite response. She gets the door and, " Hello Madam" says officer Stone, " am here to drop your phone." "Oh, thank you for all the concerns," she shows appreciation, " I didn't expect you by this time of the night." "By the way how did you locate here?" She asks wondering, "since morning I've wanted to ask you." "Oh that! uh" he tries to think of something grasping, " am a police officer, yes information is part of my duty." "And we have GPS," he smiles. "Is anything the matter?" Dodo shows up, invading the talk going on at the door between Lala and officer stone as she asks. "Sister please meet the officer who came for my rescue in the cell," Lala states an introduction. "Hey officer Stone," Dodo greets. "Hello Madam Dodo," officer Stone replies with a handshake followed by a smile. "Oh!" putting her hand palm on her chest, "so both of you know each other?" Lala talks in surprise. "He's a very committed man when it comes to performing his duties," Dodo compliments officer Stone briefly infront of Lala. "Now I can testify on that," Lala says. "His reaction was outstanding when he saw me in the cell. He treated me like his own young sister," she compliments him more. Okay I appreciate all your compliments but I have to get back on duty right now," officer Stone says. "Why don't you come inside and toss a glass of wine with us," Dodo requests. "Thanks madam, maybe next time when I return" smiling he says, "but right now I have to be on my way to duties." Lala recieves her phone from him and they both wave bye bye watching him walk away. "You took so long for I thought he was your fiancée and you were hiding him away from me," Dodo flirters gesturing in a drunk state. "You know how bad I want you to meet him," Lala says, " I can't do it's a taboo to hide him." "So is he home now," Dodo asks. "No he's not" she answers, " I tried to check on him immediately I got back home he wasn't in." "You don't mind him coming back late?" asks Dodo. "Sometimes he doesn't return at all" Lala answers, "but he never miss calling. We can talk almost the whole night."
"HANDSOME" dialing: Immediately after Lala speaking these words, her phone rings. "Is he the one?" Dodo whispers in question. "Yes," Lala responds smiling. Five seconds looking at each other smiling, "Hello Mr Yang," she answers the phone. "You sound very active and blissful, are you not yet asleep?" Mr Yang asks behind the phone. "Guess what" she talks, "am here with my sister Dodo." Do you still remember the one I told you about." "How can I forget something you tell me," he says. "Is she at the apartment?" he asks. "Yes" she replies, "she here with me badly wanting to meet you." "Am sorry to miss such a great opportunity " sympathetically he states, "hopefully next time." "I wanted to make sure you're safe and since you're, then we can talk more in the morning" he says, "you have to give your friend company she might be bored now." he say. "Alright" freely Lala accepts, "I will be waiting on you."
Immediately the call ends, " Is he coming," Jolly Dodo asks. "maybe not today," Lala says. "I can't wait to meet him, he sounds so lovely," Dodo flatters. "Nothing to worry about sister," Lala heartens her.
"Am not sleeping here even if you offer me a full cow, can you escort me right now to the car," Dodo speaks on her departure. "This high, how are you going to manage to drive?" Lala exclaims, "besides its 2am, late for you to go home by yourself." Highly caught by the strength of wine, Dodo can't move her feet steadily and her words are hyped in super excitement. "The only solution is to go with a cab," Lala speaks with in her minds. She gets her phone to call "Come-on Jiang picks up your mobile," she says to herself. "Jiang " she yells on phone, "Wherever you're, please come at my place I have an emergency." In a few minutes Mr Jiang beep horns from outside the same way he beep horns to alert Jack for school in the morning. "Oh! that was so fast," talking about Jiang showing up in a few minutes. "We can go now," Lala says lifting dodo up by the arm. Slowly walking outside the door, to the stairs upto the cab, " My car is right there why am I entering a cab?" She asks arrogantly. "You need to be safe sister " Lala says, " you're so high right now." "Remember you came when you're already drunk and added more," she enlights. "Am not ready to sleep in the hospital for months due to recklessness, death if not extreme," Lala stands on a serious note to convince her resisting drunk friend. "Mr Jiang is my cab driver, accept he drives you today" she says, "you must arrive home safely." "Madam Lala is really an angel on earth," says Mr Jiang as he walks around to open the car door. Lala fits Dodo property and comfortably inside and makes sure the door is well locked. "Mr Jiang, please take her safely to the mansion and don't leave before she is completely inside the house," She emphasises.
