"Lady Malo, what a strong young woman you're growing into."

Malo looked up at the duchess. The Volt must've been taking an intermission, otherwise she would have no reason to mingle with the child of Kazac.

"Why is it," Lady Svetu asked, taking a seat beside Malo on the couch made of leather and furs. It was not a wide piece of furniture, but it was able to sit the two of them comfortably. "That with a face such as yours, you find yourself passing the time by your lonesome?"

The duchess jutted her chin towards the east end of the room, where Malo's brother Ruslan was entertaining her two sons, Ako and Jakov.

"Surely you cannot tell me my sons are so blind as to ignore you, little cub."
