As the night grew darker, the people around gradually returned to darkness. The stars in the night sky twinkled against the moonlight.
Occasionally there were dog barks coming from the alley, but after a moment, silence returned.
Alusha rubbed her eyes tiredly and yawned.
"Mom." Her childish voice broke the silence between the two.
Allen sighed. He didn't expect that his father would watch his son being humiliated like this.
He stood up, walked to her, and slowly squatted down.
"Go to bed first. Good night." Allen rubbed her head and put her on the bed. Soon, she fell asleep.
Allen put out the other candles, leaving only one flickering on the table.
"What happened after that? You have been beaten since then?" Allen sat at the table and continued to ask.
"I have no choice. My mother is still in their hands. I have to endure it." Kelvin sighed and continued.
