I didn't want to believe it! I didn't want to believe any of it! the fact that my mother had anything to do with the bracelets of damnation, I really didn't want to believe it! But the look of shock on her face which then morphed into a look of resignation made something inside of me break. I wasn't even mad about the fact that her ancestors were the one who created something so hateful and cruel, I was angry that she was the one who would even suggest it! How? "Arianne, let's talk inside." She suggested calmly.

"Why?" I asked her brokenly. "Why would you do this to me?"

My mother blinked her eyes, "I had no choice."

I scoffed at her in disbelief. "No, no, no, don't say that. You always have a choice." I told her the first tear rolling down my cheek which I hated. I didn't want to cry not in front of her, especially since she wasn't sorry at all.
