Chapitre 18: La Folia's Demonic Mana.

As Vander read the book on Fiendfyre the more he was positive that whoever invented it was truly deranged. To start with what ignited the flames into life were negative emotions of pain, rage, hate, and despair. Vander felt he could fule the flames with the hatred, bloodlust, and violent desires of his familliras.

When he got the next book it was about a fusion Fire and Darkness spell called Dark Sorcher.

'Summons a massive orb of burning darkness. Takes huge Demonic Power to cast, but that is not an issue for me so this is a keeper. Chimera Shadow Garden, fusion of Water and Darkness, keep. Calamity Melstrom, a solid gravity attack. Dark Eruption.'

He kept reading attack spells as the best defense was the best offense in his opinion. He still took a few defensive spells that he knew could he used when needed. While he did not learn the spells he did memorize them in his head.

He was glad that his forgetfulness was gone as he had gotten much stronger than before. He was quite proud of himself, but now that he was just reading and relaxed he realized that his outburst was not like him.

He glanced at La Folia as she was the one who knew him best in this world.

"I think I know what's wrong with me?"

She put down the book in her hands to look at him a bit curious.

"What?"

"Well, you were right that I don't lose my cool. I am like a capybara as I am mostly chill unless really annoyed. While I am not very close with Akeno, Kiba, Koneko, and Rias I used to be at the least cordial with them. However, this morning when I heard her start to talk in that tone I felt like my pride was insulted and snapped a bit. I think it was the dragon blood I assimilated."

She snorted when she imagined Vander and a capybara. One was cute, the other she was for dates.

"Bullshit. Capybaras are cute, you on the other hand are not cute. You look more fearsome than cute, but I digress. It definitely has to do with you drinking that blood, but that is just weird. I have used it myself, but even then I did not become part dragon. What happend?"

He decided to explain it to her in some terms that still kept his secrets secret.

"It has to do with my unique constitution. According to my knowledge I am human, but Krumdrum does have a point. He did do a partial analyzes of my anatomy after all."

She rolled her eyes when she heard that.

"If you call butchering your arm and breaking it apart like he was a chef than yes."

He chuckled as she was still grossed out about that.

"Either way my body quickly evolves when foreign DNA is added just like when I became a Devil. My cells devoured the Demonic power and improved upon it so I became something above a Devil. The same happened with the dragon blood which reacted with the Devil genes to make a fusion of both. Don't get me started on my new weapons that have Infernity which is a type of divinity."

She raised an eyebrow as she was ready curious about something.

"No wonder your 'Demonic Power' felt so different. Because it is not Demonic Power is it? Last time you were talking about it you started it with a ma."

It would not hurt to tell her so he let her know. It was not like it was a giant secret he had to save guard with his life.

"Your right. I call it Demonic Mana. My body perfectly fuses Demonic Power and Mana into stronger purer energy so my energy alone allows me to release more power with less. It also is more versatile than either one as it has the benefits of both."

Hearing that made her quite curious if she could replace her Mana and Demonic Power with Demonic Mana.

"Can you teach me how? It would do me a lot of good to be able to fuse the two of them."

He did not mind, but he was not sure how to teach it.

"I don't even know how it works. It happened the moment I became your mother's Queen Piece, but I can try."

He got behind her and placed his hand on her back.

"I will transfer some of it into your body. See if you can understand and make it yourself. If you can make sure you keep this top secret."

"Alright. I swear to not tell a soul."

He stood behind her and placed his palm on her back. She closed her eyes as she focused carefully so she did not miss it. She knew that he was giving her one of his secrets so she felt he deserved something in exchange. What it was she would think about it later.

"You ready?"

She nodded.

"Go ahead."

He began to transfer some Demonic Mana into her body that she focused on. Compared to his total amount it was no more than a speck, but it was stronger than Mana and Demonic Power combined. She was fully focused on it as she wanted to use this to fuse her massive Demonic Power and Mana reserves.

One stronger energy was better than two weaker ones. She used her full focus and even some analytical spells on the speck of demonic mana, but they all gave diffrent answers. Some said it was demonic power and the others said mana.

Even then they did not answer the questions she had as she still had no idea what to make of it. She tried to force her own Demonic Power and Mana together, but just like usual they did not fuse or interact.

'No, that's not it.'

She focused on the Demonic Mana she had from Vander, but she was stumped. Vander did not have to do anything as his body did it automatically.

'If his body does it, does that mean, I need to make mine do the same.'

She stopped thinking as she had an idea.

"Vander, I am going to need quite a bit more for what I have in mind."

"Sure. My body produces the stuff in droves. Here."

He began to transfer large amounts of Demonic Mana into her body which she began to use as a catalyst to fuse her Mana and Demonic Power. Her idea worked and the moment the process began in a snow ball effect.

All her Mana and Demonic Power began to fuse into one which caused her body to change. Her Bone Marrow began to absorb the new energy in waves which made her feel like ants were eating her form inside.

She grit her teeth hard, but she knew that this would benefit her. After she had experimented on how to awaken her Super Devil genes she knew this was exactly that. She would not become as strong as her father in an instant, but it was a great start.

Vander kept his hand on her back as he watched what began.

'Her Super Devil genes waking up. Nice.'

Bone marrow was where your blood was produced so it purifying her genes. Once her bone marrow finished the process the new purer blood contained the awakened Super Devil genes. Her new blood began to absorb her old one and devour her old one.

However she was not Vander who could evolve in minutes so she could only wait until the process was over. At the very least her Demonic Power and Mana fully fused into Demonic mana which made her feel much stronger.

She sighed in relief that was over as she used her Demonic Mana to boost the power of her body. This caused her newly purified blood to begin replacing her old one many times the speed.

She knew that once this process was over she would have an easier path to grow stronger. How could she not be happy? She rose to her feet and gave Vander a big hug. Her face was in his chest with their height difference, but he was happy to get a simple hug.

"Thank you, Vander. I owe you one."

He hugged her back as he could feel how happy she was.

"How about you go on date with me when we get back to the human world as payment? I did give you my biggest secret."

She rolled her eyes, but she was not going to say no.

"Sure, I will give you that. Come on, I need to see how much stronger I got. We can read later."

Vander looked at his books as he wanted to study more. She separated from him as hugging for too long would just get awkward.

"Am I allowed to take them with me?"

She nodded.

"Go ahead. They have a small teleport formation on them so you can just send them back when you finish."

He pushed all the books he got into his shadow and then took about a hundred more of diffrent elements and even several on rituals. Magic was something that was a lifelong part of any mage so Vander was no exception.

"Alright then, let's go put your new power to the test. I won't hold back you know."

"I hope you don't. Otherwise, this won't be fun. Race you there."

Demonic Mana ran through her body in waves as she bolted out of the room in a flash. Vander grinned as his leg muscles tensed and he shot forward after her. Both of them raced through the halls of the estate toward the training field.

La Folia and Vander ran neck in neck as he was not boosting his body's strength. This was just his natural speed which made her squint her eyes. Suddenly a glow gathered on Vander's legs which made him run even faster.

"SLOWPOKE!"

'Not happening.'

A dark purple aura covered her body causing a formless pressure to form around her making her catch up to Vander. Her training with Sairaorg had given her access to Touki just as he had. Vander and La Folia glared at each other as they kept breaking the floorboards with the power of their running.

Out of nowhere, they felt danger making them look forward as they nearly ran into Venelana. Both of their eyes went wide open as they lept over her to avoid running into her. They landed on their feet, but their instincts felt they were in front of a dangerous beasr.

'SHIT!'

They looked behind them where Venelana was looking at the destruction they caused in their race.

"Can you explain why my floor is full of holes?"

Vander and La Folia looked at each other with a nod. They pointed at the other with straight faces.

"It was her idea."

"It was his idea."

Venelana sighed as she looked at these two knuckleheads. She turned around to assess the damage which began to repair itself because of the formations put in the house. When she turned around she noticed both of them running away.

She shook her head as she watched them run.

'When I tried to get Vander attached to my family I did not think that he and La Folia would be so similar. On their own, they don't cause much trouble but together they are like two cats. But why did La Folia feel much stronger than she used to?'

As for the two trouble makers they both made it outside where they both sighed in relief they made it out alive. La Folia looked at Vander with a smile.

"We made it out alive. My grandmother is terrifying when she is angry. Even my father gets intimidated when she is agitated."

"I could feel that. Let's go check up on Leonidus and Ripper. It is possible they killed someone already."

As they walked in that direction Vander made a bet.

"I bet Ripper broke Kiba's legs and dragged him around?"

"I bet Leonidus constricted Saji."

They shook hands and hurried to the field to see what kind of damage their familiars caused. They were even excited about it and when they made it to the field they saw Grayfia and several healers treating them.

When she saw her daughter and Vander she was extremely annoyed at how hard their pets were to manage.

"La Folia, Leonidus is set on eating Saji and Ripper is obsessed with breaking Kiba's legs. He nearly cut them off too. If that were not enough, Sona nearly had her arm bitten off, Rias nearly lost an eye, and Koneko nearly died to poison. Is this training or torture?"

Ripper and Leonidus both returned to their master's sides as they were in trouble. Grayfia honestly thought that this spartan training method was only effective when one had plenty of healers.

Vander patted Ripper on the side as he answered the question.

"Well Riser is many times stronger than Rias is he not? So I decided to give them a foe that could awaken their 'I AM GOING TO DIE' instincts. It seems to be working though."

La Folia nodded as she hugged her pet's scaly skin.

"I had the same idea. I knew you would not let them die and I can already feel that their power increased."

Grayfia knew that this method worked as the desire to survive made Supernatural beings grow in power quickly. All of them had improved rapidly just today as unlike Daisy, Ripper, and Leonidus wanted to toy with them.

Grayfia sighed as she decided to end this type of training as it was just too demanding of teenagers like them.

"I think it is for the best if the training from now on doesn't involve familiars. Especially Vander's and yours."

Ripper and Leonidus made sounds that were extremely close to disappointed sighs. They were having so much fun tormenting their shared prey. Vander and La Folia honestly did not care about this at all so they accepted it.

"That is fine with me, but you can feel it yourself right? All of you improved so much in just a few hours of real serious training. Are you willing to stop now?"

Rias looked at her peerage who all suffered today making her not sure anymore. Even she felt great pain as Ripper and Leonidus both did not spare them from pain. She looked to the ground disappointed in herself, so Vander walked toward her.

When he stood in front of her he reached out and pulled her in for a hug. Her face was smooshed on his chest confusing her. She thought he hated her, so why was he hugging her? However, she did find his warmth converting.

"Don't look too deep into this, I am just offering you a comforting hug. I felt you needed it after all the stuff Ripper put you through."

She looked up with her blue eyes into his dark green ones with a bit of surprise.

"Don't you hate me? You stated it outright."

He hugged her a bit tighter as she was like a kid to him. He already said it was beneath him to hate her, but he was not going to say it that way.

"No, I don't hate you. If I did, you would know. What I said earlier has some truth, but don't take it to heart. I was merely annoyed with your attitude so I showed you the truth of the world before someone evil did."

He stopped hugging her as he walked toward Koneko. He patted her head as he passed by.

"You did good trying to fight while poison ate you from the inside. That takes guts, I am proud of you."

When he went toward Akeno, Koneko touched her head confused.

'Proud of me?'

He kneeled in front of Akeno who sat down after being treated with Phoenix Tears for poison fire injuries.

"Why don't you use your real power? You could have avoided this if used it."

Her eyes opened wide when he said that.

"How do you-"

He pointed at his nose.

"I can smell it. Don't worry about it, just take your time and learn more about that power. If you can't even use it in a life or death situation what use are you in one."

She looked down as he went toward Kiba who had healed from his broken legs for the 15th time today. He gave him a thumbs up and walked back to La Folia. Kiba while not looking for comfort thought it would at least feel nice to hear.

"I did my good deed for the day?"

She rolled her eyes as he was apologizing for earlier without saying sorry. He felt bad, but not bad enough for the words 'I am sorry' to come out of his mouth.

"Well if we can't use our familiars to train them how will we? If we do it ourselves it won't be nearly as effective."

"I have no idea as I only wanted to awaken their life and death sense."

Grayfia had a suggestion.

"Maybe if you use a less evil familiar it is possible?"

La Folia shook her head.

"Don't look at me, mine are all messed up."

Vander was no better.

"Nope. I got nothing nice either. Maybe Maxi-nevermind."

Sona got up as both of them discussed how to train them. She deiced that this spartan training was just not for them so she tapped out here.

"You can keep discussing as I think it is time for us to return to Kuoh. This was a terrible experience, but I still thank the two of you. Her whole peerage bowed as they began to leave. Rias sighed as she felt at least she had her friend to take part of the pressure from her.

"Sona, are you going to go by train?"

Sona nodded.

"That would be for the best. We will head out now, but take care Rias."

Rias waved goodbye as they left. Saji quite literally ran as Leonidus snapped at him a little. Vander shrugged when they left.

"Well, I think this training is over. I think I am going to head back to the human world tomorrow. I just got something to do before then."

He waved his hand and returned Ripper to his familiar space. La Folia did the same for Leonidus as they both began to walk away.

"We going to visit those two again?"

Vander nodded.

"I want to see what Krumdrum can do with my new material. Plus, it is cool to watch him work."

La Folia had to agree with that, but she did not want to see him cut off another arm. She would stand outside if he did that.

"If he does, I just hope he makes me something."

"You use weapons?"

She shook her head.

"No, but a magic catalyst that also can be used to punch someone will be quite useful. Let's go, you remember where the workshop is?"

"I got it."

He teleported them in a flash of fire to talk to Krumdrum and Naerdeath again.
