Chapitre 15: Completed Artifacts.

Krumdrum hammered the ingots to shape with precision and strength. Not one of his blows deviated as the Muspelheim flames refined the material even further.

"Now."

Vander slashed open his wrist as he poured his blood onto the ingots. While human blood was iron-based, Vander's was not. Even though he did not know what his blood contained, but Krumdrum knew just how powerful it was.

He forged the blood into the metal as he placed another ingot into the forge. This process went on for several hours with Vander giving his blood when he was asked. He even made sure to pump his blood full of Demonic Mana in his blood to make it even stronger.

With each bleeding, he felt a connection to the gauntlets that were taking shape. They were clawed and made just to Vander's specifications. Already, Krumdrum had been working for 20 hours, and only now was he nearing completion.

"I will need a lot right now. I am almost done."

Vander was ready to slash his arm open instead of just his wrist. Krumdrum worked it longer and felt it was time.

"NOW!"

Vander cut open his arm from his wrist to his elbow and spilled a large amount of blood down on the gauntlets that devoured the blood like bloodthirsty sharks. Krumdrum pulled them out and quenched them in a magical oil he had nearby.

As they cooled they began to morph and adapt turning into a pair of demonic pitch black gauntlets. The dwarf pulled them out of the oil and watched as they began to glow blood red. Both because of the blood used in their forging and the fire they were forged in. They flew toward Vander and began to cover his hand's arms entirely.

Vander began to feel them feed on his Demonic Mana and even connect to his soul. Krumdrum watched as they finished forming as a dense divine power coursing through them. Vander clenched his hands feeling that they were part of his body.

"Amazing, they are perfect."

Krumdrum sighed as he touched them.

"If I had more, I would have made you a full set of armor. I used half of the stuff to make these so you will have to pick between your boots and your halberd."

Vander decided to choose the Halberd.

"Make the Halberd. That will help me more than the boots, but you outdid yourself truly. I don't think you will have any leftover though."

Krumdrum was sad about that, but he was not about to make an inferior product by using less than needed.

"It's fine. Just this experience and having the chance to work with this material is good enough."

Vander controlled his gauntlets to return to his soul and did not even feel a strain. Instead, they seemed to nourish his soul and body making him feel good. La Folia was quite impressed with them as they felt as strong as sacred gear.

"If you had more I would have asked for some."

Vander smiled as he saw Krumdrum prepare to make the Halberd. He even got an Adamantium ingot to add in instead of a chunk.

"I did the best I could the first time, but I feel the second time will be even better. Are you ready Vander? You can rest if you want."

"I am fine. We can start."

Vander walked next to the still burning hot magical flame as he watched Krumdrum start right off the bat with the Adamantium ingot. He pounded the thing into shape before adding in one of the ingots they made with the material from Daisy and Vander.

He took that out of the forge to hammer down on an anvil with Vander at his side. He placed it back into the flames from time to time while he told Vander when to add his blood. The process was still slow and meticulous just as before, but it seemed more refined.

However, now that he had some experience with the stuff, Krumdrum's work was easier and smoother. La Folia had watched the whole process as the slabs of metal began to take shape into a halberd. Even then, Krumdrum did not stop forging and kept asking for Vander's blood.

However, he took longer than the gauntlets as a full 24 hours went by in a flash as Vander kept cutting himself. Even he was looking quite pale as his body was using up Demonic Mana in massive amounts that he was starting to run on empty.

Krumdrum hammered for the last time as the Muspelheim core was starting to run out of power.

"Don't pass out on me Vander, one last big cut."

Vander slashed open his arm and poured his blood down that the dwarf forged into the large black halberd. He used his power to make sure not one bit of it went to waste. Once his hammer hit down for the last time, the remaining power of the core surged inside.

The black halberd floated in the air draining all of the Muspelheim core dry. Either way, Krumdrum did not care one bit. He grabbed it and quenched it into the magical metal that began to cool the burning hot large halberd.

Out of the ingots he had made, he only had one left that he did not use. Not that he did not want to, but the weapon itself was satisfied with the amount he forged into it. Once it fully cooled, he pulled it out and felt the Divinity course in waves in it.

"This is my masterpiece."

The dwarf was crying tears of joy as even though his life's work was not his, he was still glad to have made it. He handed the halberd toward Vander who grabbed the shaft of it. He felt his Demonic Mana and the divinity in the weapon course through his body and soul in waves.

His gauntlets appeared over his arms and when both came in contact with each other, a blood red glow appeared over them. Krumdrum wiped his eyes as he wanted a good name for them.

"Name them. You are their owner so name them something good."

Vander glanced at them and had a name for the gauntlets.

"Duskborne Gauntlets. As for the Halberd, I will call it Dawnbreaker."

When he named them, a powerful pressure filled the workshop. Vander, Krumdrum, La Folia, and even Naerdeath felt it. However, only Krumdrum had felt it before in the past. Vander felt whatever it was, it was analyzing the Gauntlets and the Halberd.

He was not even being looked at as whoever was doing this only cared for the artifacts. Krumdrum felt even better as this was very rare and only happened in rare cases.

'They have been acknowledged by the world.'

He broke out laughing as this meant he had succeeded. The world itself felt that they were weapons with the potential to become the weapon of a god. Once the World's Will go away, a surge of power filled his weapons making them even stronger.

Vander wanted to swing Dawnbreaker, but he knew this was not the place for it. Krumdrum went into the back and grabbed the whiskey he had saved since he escaped. He opened it on the spot and began to drink it.

His daughter was shocked as he had sworn to only open it when he succeeded in his mission. He was truly pleased and looked at Vander with thanks.

"Thank you. If not for you, my goal might never come true."

He passed the bottle to Vander who took it and took a drink. Even with his regeneration, he still felt the burn in his throat and the burn in his stomach. However, the alcohol still was amazing and not bad at all.

"This is good stuff."

Krumdrum chuckled as he took it back to drink some.

"Only the dwarf brewers can make it. I have no idea how, but I have truly missed the stuff."

His daughter was looking at the bottle with interest.

"Dad, can I-"

"No."

"Please, dad. Just a sip."

"It's mine."

La Folia walked toward Vander and placed her hand on Dawnbreaker.

"Who would have guessed that a simple request would lead you to have such treasures."

Vander did not know, but he was truly happy. He walked toward Krumdrum and gave the Dwarf a big hug.

"Thank you. I owe you a big one."

Krumdrum hugged him back as he was even happier.

"Nonsense, I owe you more. No amount of thanks is enough boy."

"Not one bit, if not for your expertise this would still just be a bunch of broken pieces."

"But if not for the material I would not have succeeded."

"You did all the work Krumdrum. I just gave the blood and material."

"Exactly. They would be nothing if not for the materials."

"But who would put it to use if not for you."

Both of them felt the other deserved the thanks and they did not stop saying it. La Folia and Naerdeath shook their heads at the two knuckleheads. La Folia sighed as she decided to snap them out of it.

"Alright, if not for the both of you they would not have turned out the same."

"She is right dad. Your expertise and the material were what caused them to be so strong. You both did equal work."

Krumdrum and Vander both shook hands.

"She is right boy. Your material was what truly made the weapons shine."

"Yes, your expert work made the best use of the materials. We both had a part to play them."

Krumdrum glanced at the last ingot and picked it up.

"Here."

Vander pushed it back to him.

"I made a promise. Keep it. Use it for your future work."

Krumdrum smiled as he looked at the black ingot.

"Thank you. You have my eternal thanks. If you ever need me to make you another part of armor come to me. The bill will always be sent to Red Wine hair."

La Folia dreaded to see the bill.

"How much will this cost?"

Krumdrum thought about it as he used a Muspelheim core, several ingots worth of Adamantium, time, and his expertise also costs money. Plus he knew that his work was valuable.

"At the very least, enough to leave him hurting for years."

He calculated the full price and gave the bill to La Folia. When she saw it she was shocked, but they could not charge Vander for it. Part of his contract with Grayfia was one free use of the Gremory head blacksmith. Meaning it would all come out of the pockets of Zeoticus, Grayfia, or Sirzechs.

Also, Krumdrum was not going to charge him anyway from now on. Her face looked pale as Krumdrum, Vander, and Naerdeath were poking and prodding at the Duskborne Gauntlets and Dawnbreaker.

"My grandfather will take the bill."

Zeoticus who was in his office shivered as he felt something terrible would happen. He did not know what it was, but he was deadly afraid of it.

'What is wrong?'

While he feared the worst, it would be far worse than he imagined. While they did that, Krumdrum glanced at his daughter and Vander.

"Boy, I want to ask you something?"

"What is it?"

"What is your ranking?"

"I am still a new reincarnated Devil so Low class in terms of hierarchy."

He sighed when he heard that.

"That's too bad. I would have asked if you could take my daughter as your peerage member. She is my daughter and quite strong in physical strength. She is also the only person who I taught my techniques to."

Hearing his words made Naerdeath look at Vander.

"I don't mind one bit, but if he does not have his own pieces I can just become his servant later. I am not weak at all after all."

She was also still a virgin, and for a succubus that was special. If they married someone and did not drain their partner's vitality they could actually strengthen their partner's spirit, body, and soul through an exchange of energy. Plus, she was part dwarf so her skills with heavy armor, weapons, and blacksmithing were extraordinary.

Vander was just curious about one thing.

"How old is she though?"

Naerdeath was not embarrassed about it as she was still just a young kid in Dwarf terms.

"I am 56."

Krumdrum was much older than that.

"I am 2,345, but compared to the gods and truly old Devils I am just a young brat too. How old are you, Vander?"

"17."

'39 if you count my past life.'

Krumdrum felt that was fine.

"You are young, but you are already this strong. I would not mind you being my son-in-law you know. You do have my life's work after all."

La Folia sighed as her grandmother was not the only one who wanted to hitch someone to Vander. She was just happy that he was not a horn dog who was after every woman around him. If he was, he would be after her aunt and the woman in her peerage.

Plus she would not have given him the time of day if he was like that. Naerdeath blushed a little as she looked at Vander's face. He was looking into her eyes as if analyzing her, but not her body.

"Sorry, but I will have to say no. Not that I don't think you are pretty as you really are my type. However, I won't rush head first into anything as that is how you ruin something. Plus, I am too young to get hitched to anyone."

Hearing that made La Folia and Naerdeath both look at him as he was very different from most men. That got him some points with both of them, but he was just being himself. He rested Dawnbreaker on his shoulder as he started to walk out the door.

"Come on, let's test these out."

La Folia walked next to him with her hands behind her back.

"You just earned some points Vander. If you had accepted right away I would have thought you a superficial man."

Vander scoffed.

"I am better than that. Why do you think I rejected your aunt and Akeno? If I was that superficial I would have tried to court them both. Not who I am."

Naerdeath ran next to him as she was curious about that.

"What makes me different from them? You said you were interested."

Vander looked down at her as he explained it.

"Rias is someone who wants someone to save her from her fate instead of doing it herself. Even now she is only putting effort into her own power because something bad will happen if she does not. I can tell you if she did not have that she would still be lazying around.

As for Akeno, her smile is fake as fake can be. She acts flirty, but if I tell you the truth, she feels like someone putting up airs. Everything he says feels like it's there to cover up something. As such, I am not interested in either as they have too much baggage.

You and La Folia on the other hand don't have that. La Folia feels similar to me so that is one thing and you are interesting. Plus you are my type."

Naerdeath, moved her short hair behind her ear a little.

"And what is your type?"

"Fit and athletic."

She looked at her arms which had plenty of muscle.

"Really? I always felt I was too muscular."

"Nothing wrong wiht that is there. Look at me of all people."

Krumdrum drank some of his whiskey as he could feel that Vander would make the best son-in-law for many reasons. Mostly is that he was not after his daughter's body like most young devil brats. He was more interested in her skills than her body.

Plus, Vander had his artifacts so that was already enough reason for him.

"Hey, stop flirting, and let's test them out. Use the forest as a test. The Underworld will repair everything in no time so just get to it."

Vander stabbed Dawkbreaker down as he was going to use the Duskborne Gauntlets first. He took a deep breath as he began to pump them full of Demonic Mana. Naerdeath and La Folia backed away to watch what they would do.

Vander punched toward the forest causing a massive shockwave to surge toward the forest destroying countless trees. He did not stop there as he began to shadow box against a foe in his eyes as he launched hundreds of blows that kept launching massive shockwaves that were burning hot.

If that was not enough they contained a trace amount of Divine energy even if it was rather small. Vander was just not at the level where he could use pure divine energy so this was good enough.

Krumdrum had a massive smile on his face as he felt he did even better than he expected.

"Test out Dawrnbreaker. I want to see what it can do."

Vander grabbed the Halberd with both hands as he stepped forward and slashed horizontally. As he slashed a massive wave of blood-red aura cleaved the trees in half and it kept going before exploding in a massive eruption.

They could feel the heat from all the way over here making him grin. It was better than he could have hoped. Vander fell to his knees exhausted as he used Dawnbreaker to not fall further.

"It's a massive energy sink but worth it."

Krumdrum expected that.

"That is to be expected. They are divine weapons after all. When you can master divine energy someone day you will be able to use them for longer. Just keep at it."

La Folia walked up to Vander and helped him up.

"Come on. It's time to get back."

Vander looked at Naerdeath and Krumdrum with a smile.

"Thank you both. You exceeded every expectation I had. Naerdeath, if you want to be around me more, how about you go to Kuoh Academy."

She thought about it as she was curious about the human world. Krudrum felt that would be a good idea. She had been with him all her life and had been pretty much home-schooled. Some experience outside the forge would do her some good.

"Go. You are a good assistant, but you will be back before long, besides you will visit your old man often."

Vander was a second-year student so he only had this year and Senior year to deal with. High School in Japan was only three years so the time was not that long. Naerdeath, decided to agree.

"Fine. Only because I think Vander is hot and he has your artifacts."

La Folia crossed her arms as she looked at Vander.

"Aren't you popular? How many do you expect to have in your harem? 10, 20, 30. Maybe 100."

He shuddered at the thought.

"Hell no. That is way too many."

La Folia was confused.

"My grandfather's harem contains over 50 women you know. It's not that weird as Devils normally have large harems. Wouldn't you like that too?"

Vander shook his head as that felt like too many. How long would he have to spend to please that many women?

"I am not going to go around collecting every hot woman I see. My goal is not even related to that. If I meet someone I truly like then sure that is an exception. However, I don't want to have a massive harem. That is too much for me I would say."

La Folia and Naerdeath both gave him even more points for that. He was doing everything right and gaining their interest. Krumdrum started to go back to his worship.

"You can go back with him if you want. Just pack your stuff and go. Just, call your old man."

He whispered the last bit, but she did not miss it. She rushed at him and hugged him tightly.

"Don't drink too much dad and don't cry when I am gone."

He grumbled, but he did hug her back. La Folia smiled at how the dwarf while rough around the edges was a good dad. As for Naerdeath's mother, she was not in the picture as she ran after she had her.

His bearded face got bright red as he got out of the hug. He returned inside as Naerdeath followed him.

"I will stay for a while. When do you leave to the human world?"

Vander was not staying long.

"Until the end of the week. I have used two days here and one before so in 4 days."

"Alright. I will head over so call me. I am curious about the human world as I have never been there. I might learn something while I am there."

Both Vander and La Folia waved as she went back inside. La Folia looked at Vander who sent his artifacts back to his soul. She was still helping him stand as he was drained entirely.

"Come on, let's get you home. We were here for nearly two days after all."

Vander was curious about something.

"Did you stay the whole time while we worked?"

"No. You three were so focused on the forging that I had chances to eat, go for a walk and even sleep. Dwarves and whatever you are have plenty of stamina to go for so long without sleep, eating, or resting."

Vander smiled.

"I am just awesome."

She opened a teleport circle to return to the Gremory mansion. They had been gone for a while so they missed a bit of Rias and Sona's training. Either way, it was not that important to both of them as this mattered more.

If Rias married Riser that was on her and not their problem. It would not hurt them if she did marry him as they were not going to be affected negatively if he did. As such, it was up to Rias's efforts if she would avoid marrying Riser.
