Chapitre 18: Talk with the stressed Dragon (2/2)

'So the Anemo Archon is... Off duty, huh...?" Isaac thought, understanding the dragon's words.

Truth to be told, his first impression of an Archon was a being fully competent that has been chosen by the heavens to rule and guide the humans under them through their own ideals.

Naturally, with each Archon having their own criteria for ruling their people, different ideals shall naturally be present.

From what Isaac heard, the Anemo Archon's ideals were Freedom. He would occasionally guide his people but won't actively rule over them to upkeep this ideal.

And from the looks of it, the Anemo Archon went to sleep somewhere and passed on his duties to his dragon friend.

Still, although Isaac now views the Anemo Archon as a boss that passes on his work to his subordinates, he still has some respect for the Anemo Archon.

Isaac still believes that someone recognized by the heavens would have some meaning behind their actions.

Though, if Barbatos were here right now and knew of Isaac's thoughts, he would just stick his tongue out and make a funny face while winking and saying "Ehe".

Returning to Isaac and Dvalin.

After hearing of the situation Dvalin is, Isaac made a fake cough and changed the topic. "*Cough*, So anyways, what brings you here anyway?"

Dvalin, who has now recovered from his tired expression, turned serious and said with a demanding tone. "Yes. Regarding the blue light last night..."

When Dvalin mentioned the blue light, Isaac immediately caught on to what he meant. 'The pillar...'

Finally having an idea as to why the giant dragon was here, Isaac gave a direct answer as he pointed upwards. "The light you saw came from there"

Dvalin's pupils moved and looked at the floating pillar in the sky and understood the situation. "I see..."

"Then, what had caused it to emit such light?" Dvalin asked once more. He needs to confirm if the floating pillar was a threat or not. "And what of its origins?"

Isaac crossed his arms and pointed at the pillar. "First of all, it sorta did that because I pulled it off from the ground."

"Secondly, even I don't know where it came from." Isaac shrugged.

Dvalin hummed and questioned Isaac's first answer. "And it had not done anything else since?"

"Other than the sudden increase in temperature, then yes." Isaac answered.

When the giant pillar was taken off the ground, the temperature in the Mountain greatly rose. Snow storms and blizzards stopped appearing at fixed intervals and some snow on the outskirts melted. Isaac noticed this and even thought of returning it to its former temperature.

Dvalin nodded and continued on the second question. "You said that you dwell in this mountain, yes?"

"Yeah." Isaac answered with the same calm composure.

"Then, has the pillar been there even before you came here?" Dvalin knew that Isaac was not a mortal. He believes that Isaac is an elemental being that has just been recently born in the mountain. As such, if he wants to know more about to mountain, it's better to ask a being born in it.

An elemental being can be found anywhere. As long as the ley lines and elemental energy in the area are stable, then a low-level elemental being can manifest.

However, the Ley Lines in Sal Vindagnyr are messed up. This resulted in bizarre elemental creatures being born here, but most die within a few moments after being born due to unknown reasons.

As such, it greatly baffled Dvalin to see an intelligent elemental being such as Isaac that has that much cryo elemental energy inside of him to still be alive.

Hearing Dvalin's question to his question, Isaac answered. "Yes. It's been there for God knows how long."

"Hmm..." Dvalin hummed as if contemplating something. Finally, after a few minutes, he spoke. "Hmm... I see..."

Dvalin then looked at Isaac and continued. "Well then... Isaac... Would you mind if I ask one more question?"

'More?' Isaac internally sighed. Although he thought of this, in reality, he did not mind. It just means that maybe he can be acquainted with the dragon. "Sure."

Hearing Isaac's answer, Dvalin nodded. "I'd like to ask... Do you really not know what you are?"

"I've told you already." Isaac shrugged while his arms are crossed. "Although I don't know what I am, I have the mindset of a human."

"I see..." Dvalin eyed Isaac for a moment. "Then, can you do one small request for me?"

"And that is?" Isaac raised an eyebrow.

"I'd like you to close your eyes and concentrate as you make yourself comfortable." Dvalin requested

"...Why?" Isaac became suspicious regarding the request.

"It is to confirm something." Dvalin gave a firm answer.

Although Isaac found it suspicious and never let his guard down, he decided to do what Dvalin asked. He created an ice seat to sit on and formed a see-through ice barrier around him just in case.

Dvalin looked at the barrier Isaac made and found it amusing. Still, he did not mind Isaac's actions.

After setting things up, Isaac sat down on the ice seat, which by the way, was quite uncomfortable to sit on because of the flat surface. But it did not bother Isaac that much.

After sitting down, he tried his best to calm down.

At this point, Dvalin's voice was heard. "Are you comfortable?"

'With you near me? No.' Isaac thought. "Somewhat."

"Alright... I'd like you to focus your energy on your head." Dvalin instructed.

'My head?' Isaac thought before doing so.

At first, he didn't know how he should put his focus on his head, but after a few minutes of trying to figure it out, he found something.

After trying to focus on his head, he found himself in an endless plain of darkness. A small shade of light was cast down on Isaac from above that was providing a light source. 'What is this...?'

Just now, Dvalin's echoing voice was heard. It was as if he was next to Isaac but at the same time, far away. "Are you in your mindscape now?"

"I think so?" Isaac said to the void in front of him.

Strangely, it seems like his message reached Dvalin. "Good, now I want you to focus your elemental control in front of you."

'Elemental control? Oh, like controlling cryo! Got it...' Isaac thought.

Remembering the same feeling when he creates ice, he focused his elemental energy on his fingertips and tried to gather the elemental particles on his palms.

After a few moments, a swirling cryo element appeared in his hands. After doing so, Isaac shot them in front of him.

"..." Isaac went silent. 'Nothing happened...'

'What was Dvalin trying to make m—' Just before Isaac could continue, he was interrupted by a sudden change.

The void in front of him suddenly started gushing out an intense breeze. It was not a normal breeze, but a cold one. It was strange how Isaac felt it as it had been a long time since he felt the coldness.

The breeze came crashing to Isaac as it scattered everywhere. He put his hand in front of his face in an attempt to block the incoming wind.

Just then, Isaac saw something. It was a silhouette of... Something. Isaac can't clearly see but it was massive and seemed domineering. 'What the heck is that?!'

Just then, the intense breeze started getting wilder until Isaac tumbled down and he was kicked out of his landscape, returning to the real world.

He jumped up from his seat and looked around. He then looked at the giant dragon watching him. "What... was that?"

Dvalin's eyes perked as he heard this. "Tell me what you saw."

Isaac nodded and told him what had happened. Not a single detail was left out; especially the thing he saw inside.

Dvalin listened closely and nodded his head. "I see..."

After saying this, he started flapping his wings again, clearly indicating that he was about to leave. "Then that confirms my suspicions then."

"Wait, where are you going?" Isaac shouted at the flying Dvalin

"I have confirmed that you are no threat." Dvalin replied.

"Well, yeah, I said I carry no malice but can you at least explain to me what was that just now?" Isaac asked the dragon.

"That..." Dvalin went silent for a few moments as if contemplating something before continuing. "You shall learn someday. Farewell, Isaac. I shall return to my patrol on the border of Sumeru."

"But if you wish to learn more... Talk to the Geo Archon. He should know of this..." Dvalin gave some advice. "That is if you can find him."

After saying that, with an intense gush of wind, Dvalin flew away, leaving behind a dumbfounded Isaac.
