Beatrice dashed to the living room as soon as she found out from the servant that the King had come. She held the gown tightly as she descended the stairs to reach downstairs. Taking a deep breath, she entered the living room and saw Ariane was already present there.

Beatrice greeted the King and kept her gaze low unless Christian told her she could see straight. He gestured to Beatrice to take a seat and she did. "Will His Majesty take water?" she humbly asked.

"I already have," Christian replied.

"His Majesty must be tired from the long journey. I will prepare the bed for His Majesty and will also send dinner for him in his room," Ariane said.

"That is not needed, Ariane," Christian said and asked the two of them if they were doing well.

"How can we be well when we are away from His Majesty?" Ariane muttered.

"How is my son, Your Majesty?" Beatrice asked.
