Chapitre 28: Do You Want To Be My Mate?
Lin's POV
I was shocked when Mia hugged me all of a sudden but when she cried I felt heartache. I wanted to vanish all the fears and sorrows from her life. I want to hide her somewhere where she could not meet her fears and sorrows.
That little familiar took me for her mate. I wish I really could be her mate. I don't know these feelings but somehow I want them to last forever. The feeling to protect someone, caring for them, and staying by their side.
Mia had been gone with her familiar leaving me here. I started walking. Something moved in the bush. I went close to it and saw something like small white cotton candy. When I approached it, it was a small bunny.
"Hey little buddy, you seemed to be injured. Let me help you."
I took it from the ground slowly. I healed its wound.
"Little guy, you look like my Mi. Small, cute, and fragile."
I smiled at her thought. In the meanwhile, the familiar named Hao came.
I put the bunny back and turned towards the familiar. I was extremely happy when the familiar said that Mia was indeed Mi. The fact that she wasn't avoiding me but just lost her memory made my heart fill with excitement.
The familiar said that I can't force her to remember everything. It's fine for me. I can wait for her my entire life.
"It is really important for you to know this but never let Mia know that I told you this", Hao said.
"Okay", I replied.
He began to speak, "Lin, you are Mia's mate."
Huh... Did that little familiar say mate? Is he in his right mind?
"Do you even know what you are saying?", I asked him.
He sneered, "Just look at your face. It is as if you had seen something scary. Anyways, I know what I am saying. You are shocked because you know that she had that Dragon as her mate. It's true, he is also her mate."
"Wha ...what? How could there be two mates?", I asked him in great shock.
He continued, "Mia has two mates. You are one of them. If you had any feelings for her then protect her. She is in a situation in which only you can protect her. She trusts you a lot. I can't tell you everything but this that become as close to her as her shadow. Protect her as her shadow. It's up to her which mate she will choose."
This is strange. Two mates and her memory loss. In any case, I had to stay by her side like a shadow. No matter whom she chooses. But still, my heart aches at the thought of her choosing someone else.

Mia was standing close to the window in the Conference Hall. She was looking out. All of a sudden there was a knock on the door. She moved her hand on her face and a mask appeared covering her whole face.
"Come in", she said.
The door opened and two men entered. It was Liam and the Dragon Leader.
"Greetings to Your Highness", the Leader greeted Mia.
Mia turned around, "Greetings Dragon Leader."
"This is my grandson Liam Martin", the leader said pointing toward Liam.
Liam bowed, "Greetings to Your Highness."
Mia kept staring at him while Liam was still bowing.
Mia looked up at the leader, "You may leave now."
The Dragon Leader nodded and left.
"Raise your head", Mia commanded.
Liam stood straight.
"Liam, do you know why you are here?", Mia asked him coldly.
He nodded, "I was told that you summoned me."
"Hmmm... So, you exactly don't know the real reason. Anyways sit down", Mia pointed towards a chair while sitting herself on one.
Liam sat down as she commanded.
She then continued, "The reason you are here is that you have that rose mark on your arm."
"Pardon?", Liam gave a confused look.
"Like everyone else, you must have heard about my curse. To get rid of that curse, I need the one with that mark. The one with the mark is my mate", Mia replied.
"Your Highness, do you mean I am your mate?", he asked.
Mia nodded.
"But Your Highness, you are the most powerful and majestic ruler of the beasts. As for me, I am just a nobody."
Mia chuckled, "I know that but if fate had chosen you then there must be some reason. Right now I want to ask you whether you want to be my mate and help me in eliminating my curse or not?"
He was quiet.
Mia raised an eyebrow, "It seems that your answer is no."
"No...no....no....no... I didn't mean that. it's just that it is too confusing for me to reach a decision", he replied hurriedly.
"If you don't want to be my mate then no need to force yourself. No one will object to your decision since it's your life. So, it should be your choice", Mia told him.
"It's not that. I...I don't have any problem. If you get rid of the curse it won't only help you but all those Magical Beasts who are in danger. It is a great honor for me to be your mate. It would be every men's dream to be your mate whether it's a human or beast", he replied.
Mia stared at him, "It's great. Let me tell you something to be my mate you have to accompany me on different missions. I don't know how you will end the curse but if I take you around with me on all of my missions then I might find something."

Lin's POV
I waited for Mia in the Arena but it seemed that she was busy with Liam. I don't want her to be with him but I have no other choice.
I kept on my training. After a while, I sensed a disgusting aura from my surroundings. The aura was giving me a headache and sensing it made me somehow angry.
"I think it is a familiar aura. I had sensed it somewhere before."
"Lin", I heard Mia's voice and turned around. I was filled with rage after seeing them. I wanted to kill him. With my fists clenched I charged forward.
