Chapitre 25: The Promise
I stared at her, "Tell me what is it?"
She was a bit hesitant and then spoke, "Although Liam is coming to train with you and fight with us but he doesn't know the fact that we are here. He must not know my real identity. You shouldn't behave as if I am Mia. Instead, you have to behave as the most trusted person and the most loyal guard of Princess Chi. I hope you understood?"
Her words were a bit surprising and the fact that she wants to hide her identity from her mate.
"Yes, I did understand your words. But why do you have to hide your identity?", I asked her out of curiosity.
Mia was silent.
"It's okay. Don't say it if it is something that you don't want to", I said with a smile.
She looked at me, "It's not that. The thing is that whenever I think about him it feels quite strange. I am doing all this to see his true personality. As the ruler of the Magical Beasts, I can't risk their life with my wrong decisions."
This little girl in Infront of me looked so confident with her words that people would think she had hundreds of years of experience.
All the girls her age are busy burning theparparent'sey to buy themselves the latest editions of everything. Look at her she had a lot of wealth yet she never cares about herself.
The only thing she cares about is her responsibilities.
"Don't worry I will do as you say", I told her with a smile.
She smiled but I was able to see through her. She was afraid of something but didn't want anyone to know her fear. I wish I could know your fear. I wish I could become your most trusted friend so, that you can easily share your fears with me and I would make all those things disappear that had caused your fear.
The rest of the day we were on the island. Mia prepared the breakfast. After eating breakfast Mia went to treat some sick animals on the island. I decided to continue my training on my own.
After I got tired I sat on the ground and looked at the sky. The sky was covered with clouds as if it would rain anytime.
Mi, she liked rainy days a lot. The rainy days had the most memorable moments for both of us. It was a rainy day when we first met. I can still remember that I ran away after mom's funeral. I was crying a lot. i went to the Yun Valley. It began to rain and I sat under a tree. I felt so lonely. My knee was bruised because I fell on the way.
I was crying loudly and buried my head in my arms.
"Hey, big guy why are you crying?", I felt a small soft hand on my arm. The voice was really sweet.
I raised my head. I was shocked for a while to see that little angel. Although her clothes were all messed up. But she looked so cute and sweet.
She came close to me and sat next to me, "Big guy, you are injured but don't worry let me treat you. You are crying because it hurts."
She took out some cartoon bandages from her pocket and put them on my knee.
She smiled and looked at me, "Big guy, you will be fine soon. I also injure myself often so, I had to keep bandages with myself or mommy will scold me."
Her smile felt so warm. She removed my tears from my face with both of her small hands.
I unconsciously held her hand when she was about to leave, "What is your name? Can you stay with me till the rain stops?"
She smiled, "Umm... my name is Mi. Don't worry I will stay. What is your name?"
I looked at the ground. I can't tell her my real name. I don't know her. What if it causes some trouble for Dad? I looked at her, "My name is Li."
I didn't know how time passed and we got close to each other. We promised each other that we would never leave each other's side. Whenever Dad would scold me I would run to the valley. Mi would be waiting there for me. Her sight would relieve all my pain.
She was the only one who was not afraid of my true form. Now I understand why she was not afraid of me as a Wolf. After all, she is our Ruler, why would she be afraid of a mere beast like me?
That day, we promised each other that we would get married once Mi becomes an adult. I promised that I would wait for her till she grows up. That's when we were attacked by some unknown power. I can still remember Mi shielded me with her body from the attack of that unknown creature.
I ran to save her but before I could reach her she disappeared along with that creature. Grandpa came and took me away.
I waited for you. I never broke my promise. I am still waiting for you. But it seems that you had forgotten me Mi or should I call you Mia.
Mia, you don't remember the promise.
You don't know how much pain I suffered after that incident. In order to find you, I worked hard day and night. I always believed that you were alive.
Somehow I felt that you were in front of me but I was not able to notice you. When I saw you at the meeting of Chi Corporation, I felt that Mi was back.
But your behavior was as if I was some stranger. I stood by your side when those people tried to take your position.
At that moment I stood by your side because even if you were not Mi still you looked like her.
I was not wrong. In the end, you are my Mi. Even if you forgot the promise, still I won't leave you. I remember my promise and I will fulfill it. I will stay by your side and protect you. The way you protected me from my fears.
I sighed deeply and got up from the ground.
I went to find Mia.
"Look at you. You had grown up a lot", Mia was holding a baby deer in her arms.
I was staring at her from a distance.
She looked at me and smiled. All of a sudden her expression changed. She was trembling.
