A few days go by, and Felix is finally released from the hospital. His stitches look great, though he will have a few scars, and there are no infections. I finally get to take Felix home with me. Even though it has only been a couple of days, it feels like a lifetime.
Sadly, I had to leave him at the hospital every night because we weren’t directly related and because the hospital policy wouldn’t let overnight stays unless it was a life-threatening condition.
Needless to say, when I pull up in my car in the hospital circle and see Felix step out of the building, I am overjoyed. I leap out of the car and run to him, hugging him, and kissing him multiple times before pulling away.
“Feeling good?” I ask as I walk him to my car.
“Better now that we’re together,” he grins. I moan and roll my eyes.
“Wow, that take you a long time to come up with?” I tease as I bump into him playfully.
“You kidding? That took me a month,” Felix jokes. I laugh and unlock my car door.
