-1 Month Later-
It's been a month since I've left my family behind. For the first couple days I got quite homesick, but after exploring most of the attractions I got quite attached to the place. The Dean let me stay in an apartment close to the university, but still near the outskirts which would allow me to train my body. Of course once I start, I'll have to move out and live in the university's dorm.
One of the reasons why I got through my homesickness so fast was with the help of my roommate Hyun-Joo. She was a very attractive woman with medium-short green hair with blue highlights, her eyes matching. Her complex was Ebony Jewelwing, a species of damselfly which belongs to the same order as Dragonflies.
She was alerted of my arrival by Nest. She had been filled in on everything she needed to know and when she found out I was actually male, she said she didn't have a problem with it. To be honest I think she liked it a little too much.
…
(Day Of Arrival)
I arrived at my accommodation for the time being. It looked like your typical modern apartment building. It was 8 floors high, with each floor fitting 10 rooms of considerable size. Each room was big enough for two people, which obviously means there is a chance I'll have a roommate. 'I just hope they are nice.'
Looking at the note given to me it stated that my room was on the 6th floor, room 6-D. I ventured my way up the many flights of stairs without any sign of fatigue. Perhaps I was able to handle it now… or maybe I was just too weak before.
Coming to a stop outside my room, I prepared myself for whoever was waiting behind the doors. Pushing the door open, it had come to my attention that no one was inside. Dropping any expectation of meeting my roommate, I walked right into the room. Looking around the room, it was in the exact layout of the student dorms. Two bunk beds on opposite sides, a desk, chair, drawer and wardrobe underneath. A huge square light built into the ceiling. The bed on the left already contained important items, definitely my roommate's possessions.
Wondering where my roommate could be, I felt a weird sensation. Almost as if something was watching me, my body tensed up. Reacting with only instinct, I stretched my arm towards the light and grabbed hold. Even though I hadn't done it before I had no choice but to try. Retracting my arms I was propelled forward towards the window. As I was about to land, I heard a loud crash from where I once stood.
I turned around to find a woman with blue, green hair that reached above her shoulders and matching eyes. Her black wings folded straight down. She wore a form fitting black shirt showing off her curves and a beige skirt along with black high heels. The way she held herself could only be described as mature. From what I sensed she was preparing to attack, perhaps as a way to test me, I wasn't too sure.
She held her hand to chin and began to analyse my appearance. "Oh darling, I understand your situation, but that sense of fashion is awful. Let's go and get you some proper clothes." Instead of introducing herself she took notice of my outfit instead. Not going to lie, I was slightly offended, my lovely mother picked these out for me. Before I could offer a rebuttal she interrupted me. "Oh right, I didn't introduce myself. Sorry, I just feel hurt seeing someone with a body like yours not use it to their full potential. My name is Hyun-Joo. Nice to meet you."
"I'm sure you know already, but my name is Shin Kyung. It's nice to meet you too, thanks for the compliment… I suppose. Saying that, you are aware that I used to be male right?" She strutted over to me with a devious smile on her face.
She grabbed onto my shoulder and leaned into my ear. "Don't worry kiddo. That's why I agreed to look after you, I just want to show you what it's like being a woman." She made me feel a little hot and bothered, especially with the sultry voice she displayed. Pulling away she mischievously smiled. "Aaaaaanyway… let's go shopping. Think of it as a girl's day out."
Just what did I get myself into?
…
She showed me around as the official tour guide. She told me all about the best places to relax, eat and have fun. There were so many places to go, I guess it's hard to feel bored here. No wonder many people chose to stay here.
After the tour we went back to the Commercial District to buy some clothes and food to eat. In terms of clothes, they were all paid for by the huge allowance given to me by my parents. All the decision making for my clothes were decided by Hyun-Joo herself. They ranged from dresses, t-shirts, turtlenecks, skirts, denim shorts, boots and high heels. At the end of it I ended up having to carry around ten bags of clothing.
Even though I thought we were done, I was sadly mistaken. We went to an underwear store and bought several pairs of sports underwear. She forced me to buy some weird underwear. As much as I tried to refuse, I had no choice.
In total I had to carry about 12 bags. We received quite the few stares from people, they probably thought they were all stolen. Following on, we made a quick stop at a restaurant. I decided to have some kimchi on rice, it was delicious. Finishing our meal, we chose to end it there and go home.
Along with the heaps of clothes, I left with some vital information about the enrollment process. Granted, it was something I already knew, but it was a great reminder. All I have to do now is train and get stronger.
-Back To The Present-
Each day after hanging out, I'd go train in the outskirts where the chances of someone watching is low. Today would be no different.
In the past month I've gotten comfortable with my body and its rubber properties. This allowed me to recreate most of Luffy's base attacks with relative ease, but I didn't stop there. I created some of my own attacks, but I won't be telling you about them at this point. To help keep me less restrained, I wore a loose grey yoga t-shirt with short sleeves and black gym shorts. Like Luffy I wore his signature straw hat and sandals.
Just to test my proficiency, I decided to try one move. It was a simple move, but pretty effective. Aiming towards a tree I planted my feet. Grabbing hold of my arm I pulled back with all of my strength, pushing that energy forward my arm extended at an extremely high speed. "Pistol!" My fist forced its way through the tree and a couple behind it. After reaching its maximum extension, it quickly retracted back to its normal shape.
In about five months, I should be fully prepared.
-One Month Before Enrollment-
The news spread far and wide. Almost everyone knew of the incident. A college student saved the life of his crush from falling to her death, but in return he had to lose something else. He revealed his wings to the world to see and he lost everything he worked hard to accomplish. This was the turning point of Jang Suchan's life.
For an entire month he would return to being an outcast, until he tries to end his life. That's when he meets his knight in shining armor, Huijin, who shows him the light at the end of the tunnel.
…
It was my nineteenth birthday today, but unfortunately I would not be able to celebrate with my family as it was probably the busiest they've ever been in a long time. So the next best thing was to celebrate it with Hyun-Joo.
We went to a bar for some drinks, even though I don't usually drink alcohol. I would have come in just a hoodie and pants, but before I could step one foot outside the apartment I was forced back in. She insisted on me wearing a white knitted turtleneck and a red plaid skirt reaching above my knees. It was my first time wearing heels and they were really uncomfortable.
We talked about various things, mostly about myself and Nest. "You'll be starting in less than a month right? Hehe…That's if you can even pass registration." She already knew that would set me off, so I couldn't even get angry at her before she continued. "I'm joking. I know how much you've worked for this, I'm certain you'll succeed." She held up her glass of wine and so did I.
"Cheers./Cheers!" Her enthusiastic cheer put mine to shame
Not only did we have some drinks, Hyun-Joo bought a large chocolate cake covered with even more chocolate flakes. It was probably one of the best cakes I've ever had.
We both felt a little drained so we both decided to head back to our apartment. On our little walk home, all my memories of these months were brought back. All the hard work I put into becoming stronger. All the good times I had with Hyun-Joo. Even though it was unexpected, I truly felt thankful.
As it always does, time flew by and it was time.
…
-The Promised Day-
I stood at the entrance of the campus, watching everyone else go inside. For registration I decided to wear a short sleeved red jacket and white t-shirt. For my lower half, there were blue shorts with white fluff around the bottom. I wore sandals for my legwear. My straw hat resting on my head.
By my side was Hyun-Joo, to me it looked like she was sad to see me go. "I'll come and visit you Hyun-Joo, we can have as many 'girl's night out' as you want." I pulled in for a hug and she replied in kind. "Thanks for taking care of me."
Releasing our grips we pulled away. "It was no problem. Now go and get that Cinderella, I believe in you Kyung." I waved back to her as I marched my way into the building.
'It's now or never.'
…
After asking someone for directions I finally made it to the registration room. Opening the door I saw several familiar faces. The main protagonist of the story, Suchan. The class president Huijin. The wild and chaotic Dohwa and the cool, but impulsive Hyeseong. Even after all these years, I can still remember them.
Speaking of Suchan, he sat in front of his computer with a nervous face. I felt bad so I decided to sit next to him to cheer him up. "Hey, mind if I sit here?" He looked a little too focused in his own thoughts to hear me. I tapped his shoulder and he finally took notice, "Is it okay if I sit here?"
It took him a while to comprehend what I said, "O-Oh uh… yeah, go ahead." Finally getting my answer I sat down next to him. I opened up the laptop and switched it on. We both sat in silence for a while until he decided to speak up. "You aren't wearing what everyone is, are you a transfer student too?"
"Yeah I am. My name's Kyung Shin. What about you?" From the look on his face it seemed like he recognised my name.
"I'm Suchan Jang. Also.. sorry to pry, but your name sounds familiar. Are you the eldest child of the Shin Corporation? Wait no you can't be, the eldest isn't a girl. Sorry about that."
"No you're right, that's me. When I used the Jungle Juice I ended up becoming what you see now." He looked at me with some level of sympathy, which also surprised me as he was probably worse off than me. He lost everything he worked hard for.
"It's nice meeting you Suchan. I wish you good luck in registration, believe in yourself and you can do it." That seemed to lighten his mood a little bit, but his concern remained present. As he was about to reply, a message popped up on each computer screen. 'Course Registration Begins!'. Each individual in the room charged out the window, leaving him confused.
I stood up and grabbed a hold of his shoulder. "This is where it begins, you'd better hurry." Grappling onto the window ledge I prepared to catapult myself, "Cya!" Letting all the tension go I flew out of the window into the sky. Looking back at Suchan he stood at the window in shock.
'It's not the right time to stand still. You have to move forward, whether you like it or not.'

Author: Now the real stuff begins. I'll start referring to characters with their given name first then last name, just so it isn't confusing. I know this chapter may have been a little boring, but I hope you enjoyed it nonetheless.
