Chapitre 25: Volume III: Bonding Time Chapter 25: Land of Water
After two days of travel we reached the Capital of the Land of Water. From here we need to infiltrate Kirigakure and know the situation there, and we're on our way to Kiri. But the thing that I'm most concerned about is, doesn't Lord Third have his student Jiraiya who has a spy network all around the world? So why send us here to gather information?
Looking at Shisui I asked "Hey, what's the real mission?"
"What do you mean?"Shisui asked me.
"Come on, I'm sure that this is not just an infiltration and information gathering mission. There's more to it right?" I asked Shisui.
"There isn't." Shisui replied to me.
"Alright." I said.
After getting confirmation from Shisui, we started to go around to know the current situation in the Land of Water. On my way I heard some rumours, like how one of the Seven Swordsmen of Kirigakure tried to rebel and was forced to escape from Kiri. 'Well, that would be Zabuza.'
After an hour long information gathering, I went towards the rendezvous point that Shisui picked, and it was a bar, so I entered it and found an empty table and sat there. Couple of seconds later a waiter came to get my order, looking through the menu I ordered one bottle of sake and fried pork. Then he took my order and he left thanking me for coming to the establishment and went away to the kitchen.
As I was waiting for what I had ordered to arrive, Yugao came into the bar, looking around she found me and smiling as she came towards my table and sat down next to me.
We just talked about the usual things that two merchants would talk about, since we couldn't break our cover now. A minute later the sake and fried pork came at the same time Shisui also entered the bar, and spotting us he came and sat down, as he sat down he activated the privacy seals and said "Anything important?"
As soon as he asked, Yugao said, "The Kaguya clan has been eradicated."
"Zabuza Momochi and his group deserted Kiri after a failed rebellion." I told him.
"Most of the officials who stood against Mizukage have been eliminated and all the seven swords have left the village." Shisui said. Then taking a cup of sake and drinking it he said "It's not only the Kaguya clan that has been eradicated, Yuki clan who are famed in using ice release has also been eradicated and most of the Kekkei Genkai users are hunted down by the group under Mizukage. That's all we know now." Taking a deep breath he said "We have to infiltrate the village to know more about it."
Before he could continue I stopped him and said "Look, I have a better idea. We don't have to snoop around every corner of the village, we just have to get in and I will handle the rest. We won't get compromised at all."
"Are you sure?" He asked me.
"One hundred percent sure." I replied to him with confidence.
"Then let's do it your way." Shisui agreed.
Coming to the decision we stopped dining and went out to get a carriage. So after getting a carriage that is going to Kirigakure to deliver some resources,we started our journey to Kiri. It would take two days to reach Kirigakure by carriage.
On the way I explained to them about the plan on using my shadow summons to spy and the tree of just going into the village as a trio of merchants. Understanding that this is the easiest and also the safest way they were surprised at first, then Yugao asked me "If you could gather information so easily, then why did Lord Third send us both with you?"
"It might be because he doesn't know about the summons, as I only got them at the end of last year. So, maybe because of that." I told her.
"That could be true. Because, if Lord Third knew what his summons could do then he wouldn't have given us the mission." Shisui said.
After two days' travel we reached Kirigakure, we stopped for inspection. After looking through a list the guards said "You're not on the list, so you can't enter. This is the order from the Mizukage."
"We understand." Shisui said.
Then from there we went away, in the eye of the guards. Because actually, Shisui used Genjutsu on them and we got in.
A couple of minutes later we found an inn that we could stay at and rented out one room. We can't get two rooms, as that would raise suspicion as we three have transformed into a male merchant.
As soon as we reached the room and closed it, Shisui saud "I know that you could get information on your own. But let me look around for a day, then you can send your summons."
"Sure, I've no problem with that." As he got confirmation from me he nodded and went away to do some recon. Before leaving he said "I'll be out for a day. So, don't do anything that will warrant the attention of the Kiri Ninja."
After he left we locked the door and sat down on the bed, and I thought 'So my guess was right, he has a solo mission to complete. I wonder what it is.'
But my thoughts were disrupted by Yugao, who looked around, said "I'm going to take a bath." Standing up she went towards the attached bathroom, but before entering she said "Don't peep."
"I won't." I replied to her with a smile. And what I said was true, she's only seventeen because some part of my moral compass from my past life is still with me. So I'm not that much inclined to peep on an underage girl.
