At this point, Borbatos couldn't simply watch from the sides. His life was at risk now. Naturally, Velisarmo and Borbatos would become the martyrs, men heedlessly slain by the Northern evil, tyrannical and unreasonable.
He had no clue why the North was so adamant at creating a scene here, which would very likely result in war, but since they were brave enough to do it, it should also mean they were confident enough to see through the mess that was war.
