Yao Yuzhui was no longer a wanted man after that.
Two people confessed to having been a couple that abducts children for ransom. The baby was returned, much to the actress Ku Qi and Adrik Lebed's joy.
As for the restaurant called Dragon Blessing or Long Zhufu.... It was now an empty piece of land waiting to be bought and sold again. Many of its former loyal patrons were disappointed in its demolishment.
The app Xiao Nezha's Guide to the Jade Palace has no traces of ever existing, except for it being in Leon Mo's phone. Wolfe also saved a copy on his own phone and the Alpha in case of..... well, black swan incidents like this.
They have talked to their parents about needing to return to America to continue their abrupted busy schedules as a theater actor and an Interpol agent.
Their parents wanted to stop them, but they promised to stay in touch with them and each other even when they return to the States.
"You two should just stay in one place there." His mother suggested. "We can look for a space that's a halfway point between Broadway and New York's Interpol office."
"No need. Both of them are pretty nearby, just a 10-15 minute drive. I can even just walk to Broadway for 28 minutes." Leon said.
Wolfe tugged on his sleeves, wearing a plastered smile. "But if you all would insist, maybe Leon could choose to stay at my place or I can stay at his."
This relieved the old people, but as they went out, Leon pulled on Wolfe Fang's collar.
"You are not staying in my place." Leon said.
"And neither are you staying in mine." Wolfe grinned. "But we have to cohabitate to appease the emperors and empresses of the Mo and Fang empire. So, let's settle this as we usually do."
They did Rock, Paper, Scissors again. Leon won.
He'll be temporarily staying in Wolfe's place for now. He doesn't know whether or not to feel great about it, but the actor does stay at a nice, large Elizabethan-style penthouse.
And at least he can maintain his place's personal privacy, he wouldn't want the meddlesome Wolfe to poke around his stuff and go to places where he doesn't belong.
On the flight back to NYC, they sat beside each other on a first-class seat, barely talking.
Leon was cautious all the time, checking and re-checking to make sure Mickey Xing was not following them or having them followed. He never left Wolfe's side, not even once.
Thinking about it, he's more relieved now that he will be staying at his place. Who knows what may happen to him after being involved with Mickey Xing.
"Leon. Leon!" Wolfe snapped his fingers to gain his attention.
"Hmm?" He said, as he finished clocking the whole first-class seat area.
"Relax. We're not being tailed, ok?" Wolfe said in a comforting tone. "You're going to scare everyone with that stare. Take a chill pill for the rest of the ride."
"We can never be sure. Mickey Xing is---"
"I know. I know." Wolfe shushed him with his finger again. "I actially did some background check on him. You two went to the same middle school together?"
Leon nodded gravely. " Mn."
"And he murdered several students at the age of 15.... He got off because he was a minor and had claimed to have schizophrenia and was clinically insane."
Leon scoffed. "It's more of his family's money that put him into a psych ward instead of the maximum-security prison where he belongs."
Wolfe suddenly put his hand on top of his. "He won't bother you anymore for a while. And once he did bother you again, I'll make him and his family suffer something worse than scaphism."
Leon took his hand away, unable to look him in the eye when he said "Thanks. But I can also take care of it myself, he's my business, not yours. You just got involved because your engaged with me."
"Well, you can't change the fact that I'm involved now. So don't be a stubborn cow and stop carrying this burden alone." Wolfe frowned. "You didn't even tell your parents that he's back."
"They don't need to know. They're too happy that we agreed to the wedding and all their whims without a hitch."
Wolfe nodded. "We still have to buy rings, you know."
He grimaced. "Which I'll definitely take off every time I go out to work or to the club."
Wolfe made a face. "Don't go to the club without me. They could be spying on us again."
"I was joking." Leon grinned. "I don't think I would be go partying any time soon after everything that happened."
"It all changed with just one phone call." He rubbed his tired face. "I'm now to be engaged with Wolfe fucking Fang, my greatest nightmare is back, and I broke so many rules that could have my career as an Interpol agent in jeopardy."
"Yeah, neither of us could have expected this coming." Wolfe leaned on his chair. "You wanna have some champagne?"
"For what?" Leon asked.
"To get rid of the headache after all this mess in China. And also to have you stop looking back like a paranoid every 5 seconds."
Leon shrugged. "Can't help it. I probably need at least 4 glasses."
They called out the plane's staff to deliver some champagne, and drank and talked for a bit.
"So... I'm actually going to have a World Tour soon. Of Red Riding Hood." Wolfe brought up as he sipped on his 5th glass.
"Wow, you really are a big shot now, huh?" Leon grinned.
"It's more of an Americas and Europe Tour, really. And some Japan and Korea mixed in, the play's gaining traction there as well." Wolfe just said so like he couldn't care any less, but there was a bit of a pride in his face.
Leon thought that he really must love his job. He admired that about him, ever since he watched his first ever major performance as a supporting role.
But he'd never tell him that. Wolfe didn't notice him watching that time, it's better off that way.
"What about those people who are still bitter about Leslie Del Mar? Do you have them on set?" Leon asked.
"No. It's more of the fans, really. My co-workers were all pretty great and accepted me." Wolfe made a distant look. "But that doesn't erase the very large shadow that Leslie has over the entire production..... and me. My role that was his role."
Leon raised his hand as if to pat his head, but lowered it to patting his shoulder.
"It would all be alright in the end. Even those haters would have no choice but to shut the fuck up once you continue to make it big, maybe even bigger than Leslie."
Wolfe just smiled and nodded. They said nothing else and just drank.
And after a bit too much champagne, they had fallen asleep peacefully on each other's shoulders, unaware of that was to come for the both of them in the future.
