Young mistress, I'm thrilled to see what's inside the other two boxes," Yuna exclaimed with excitement.
Emma nodded in agreement.
With eager anticipation, Emma opened the second box, only to be surprised by a pair of beautiful golden sandals.
These exquisite sandals were adorned with small golden stones and white polished pearls on the heels.
Emma was amazed by their delicate appearance, but as soon as she slipped them on, they fit her feet perfectly as if they were custom-made.
Now it was time for the last box, and both Emma and Yuna were filled with excitement and curiosity about its contents.
"Young mistress, perhaps there's a bracelet in this one. What do you think?" Yuna asked with a curious smile.
"I don't know; we'll only find out once we open it," Emma replied, her curiosity piqued.
Yuna proceeded to open the last box, and Emma's mind raced with possibilities.
Would it be an anklet or a bracelet?
But what they found inside left them utterly surprised and overjoyed – it was their wedding ring! Emma and David's wedding ring, the one she had accidentally flushed down the drain on the first day after their marriage.
"No way!" Emma gasped in disbelief.
"Young mistress, I remember you telling me about the lost ring. It seems Young Master loves you so much that he had another one made for you," Yuna explained, her happiness evident.
Emma was astonished. She knew the ring was worth a fortune, yet David had gone to the trouble of getting another one made for her.
But why? Why was he so caring and considerate?
"Young mistress, I believe Young Master didn't want your Grandpa to scold you again for losing the wedding ring. He must have bought you another one out of love and concern," Yuna said, looking at Emma with affection.
"Hmm", Emma nodded.
Excitedly, she shared her wedding dress news with her Grandpa.
"Oh, child, that's wonderful!" Grandpa exclaimed, brimming with joy.
Emma felt a pang of nostalgia as she realized she would soon be leaving this house and her beloved Grandpa. He began to reflect on his life, reminiscing about his daughter, Melissa, and how her marriage brought him immense happiness.
He cherished the moments he spent playing with her and being her friend. However, the mention of Melissa's departure brought tears to his eyes.
"Grandpa," Emma attempted to console him, not wanting to see him cry.
But he insisted on continuing. He recounted the pain of losing his son and daughter-in-law, which made him cherish Emma even more. She had become his second daughter, and he lovingly watched her grow up.
"You are my second friend, my dear," Grandpa said tearfully. "And when you get married, I will be alone again."
Emma was at a loss for words. Seeing her old Grandpa so emotional was difficult to bear. She wished she could ease his pain and make him happy again.
