Chapitre 8: Space
An otherworldly spaceship was already waiting near the new built harbour. Six people were quickly entering it, everyone wearing a special suit for space exploration.
After a few minutes of preparation did the ships engine begin to roar and slowly float above the ground, going higher and higher until its speed accelerated breaking through the sound barrier and the atmosphere at an incredible speed.
- BOOM - If the heads of the explorers weren't protected by the helmet, their ear drums would have instantly exploded. The entire ship shook violantly with the force shield keeping them safe from the satellites and other space trash.
Just as it would hit the moon, it stopped going from 100 to 0 in 0.5 seconds
"Where should we start, captain?" "Let us fly more in the direction of Jupiter. Their scouts may already be there."
The floating spaceship accelerated again after turning toward a distant bright star. Arriving before it after another short time and almost hitting it again.
"Goddamnit! Who is flying this thing?" "Sorry Captain, I am still not familiar with my body." "At least we are here. Scan the surrounding area and look for any disturbances in space. They can hide very well."
Mars looked outside the strange and unfamiliar spaceship, gazing upon things he would have never seen in his other life. Jupiter was breathtaking, it looked as if it was gazing back at him with his one eye, shaking Mars's very soul.
After a while he looked around making himself familiar with the feeling of being in space. He unconciously walked toward one of the escapes pods. Something was luring him inside and pressing the button to evacuate him.
- BOOM - "Wait! Where is Mars? Did anyone see him? Falk! You should have been watching him, so what happened?" "He just vanished... b- but he was standing there at the observatorium till now. I promise Captain!" Sweat was dripping down Falks forehead.
"Look for him ... Now!"
- Mars was slowly drifting in the unknowns of space. At one time he shut the systems down, opened the pod and let the cold universe embrace him fully, freezing him momentarily.
He witnessed a view that was so otherwordly that not even the system announcement could break his trance.

Mars's body suddenly reacted to the announcement. The hair on his arms and legs suddenly started standing up as if finally realizing how low the temperature was.
Adrenaline was pumped into his body. His pupils shrunk to the minimal amount making him look like a strange drug addict. His skin got bumpy all over his entire body and something moved under his skin, trying to break out. The cells in his body divided and grew even faster to be able to adapt to this changes that were trying to break his body. Every muscle fiber of his body got torn apart and fused together in new shapes again and again, as if they wanted to find the best combination, leaving him in a state where he couldn't move a single limb and than an overload of stimulation, letting him feel intense pain. Mars wanted to scream but in this cold space no sound could be heard. It was completely silent. After a while all his muscles bulged up preparing for battle. Suddenly with the increase of his senses, he felt like he was being watched. 'Did Jupiter just blink at me?'
Some black spots assembled near Jupiters "eye" accelerating towards him.
'SH*T, THE ADAPTION ISN'T OVER YET! PLEASE SYSTEM HURRY!'
... SENSING HOSTILE ENERGY ... QUICKER ADAPTATION AVAILABLE ... WARNING BACKSLASH IS TO BE EXPECTED ...
'I don't care! DO I-!' Intense pain floated from Mars's pain receptors straight toward his brain. He immediately lost consciousness only for the system to wake him up a second after as if it wanted for him to feel the pain. What a sadist!
His cells, seemingly couldn't keep up with the strange power that was reforming his body then tried to multiply even faster. It would be a miracle if no malignant mutation happened.
'Is that the backslash? Well better than some other permanent damage. I can cope through this!' Mars's Resilience stat, though reluctantly at first slowly began to rise, making him numb to it and easing his pain.
The changes to his muscles made him get taller and wider, overstretching his space suit and breaking through it. The radiation from space now attacking his body directly, but instead of damaging him, the energy got absorbed speeding the adaptation up. Mars closed his eyes again. The pain was written all over his fase and when he opened his eyes again, he saw "it".
A big dark blue eye was staring at him, inflicting suprise and fear into Mars. Instinctively he released his mind force and poured energy around himself, blowing the entity away and hiding himself inside a black cocoon.
Some strange whispers could be heard from the outside that resembled the sound from the void beast inside Mars's Energy Core "Void? Friend? Why attack?"
Mars didn't care what it was saying since it was definitely otherwordly and probably dangerous. After all there were still a lot of it flying toward him.
'System, what was that thing?'
... THE BEING IS CLASSIFIED AS A VOID STALKER ... IT IS USED AS A DRONE THAT WANDERS AROUND THE VOID ARMY AS A MEANS TO SCOUT THE AREA ...
'Army? That sounds bad! I have to finish the adaptation!'
Mars stayed anxious the entire process until finally the pain went away.
