Chapitre 40: Velvet like the night

Davi's jaw went taut with tension. Ivo could guess at who the 'guy' was. Finally an explanation as to why Davi was adamant he came with him.

"Is Vice here?" Davi asked, his eyes drifting through the other booths in the gallery.

Vital looked down into the crowd again. "He's down there somewhere, you know how he likes having fun."

Davi hummed. "Only too well."

Ivo scanned the crowd too. Vice should be easy to find, with his close-cropped blond hair and those starry-sky eyes, but the strobe lights made everyone look multicoloured, melted their shapes together like a surrealist painting.

Vital patted Davi on the shoulder. "You should go and talk to him. He knows about the gig, he'll find a way to get you in there."

Davi shot Vital one last annoyed look and made his way to the spiral stairs down into the dancefloor. Ivo followed closely after him, pretending not to see the wink Vital threw his way.
