Chapitre 54: CHAPTER FIFTY FOUR

Beth rolled out of bed, still uneasy. She has been uneasy for weeks now. Things were silent, too silent. Where was Cyrus? Why wasn't he doing something? Even the death rate had drastically reduced. Was he dead yet? Was he moving to his final phase of the plan? Where was he? What was he doing? She had so many unanswered question. She looked back at the bed and saw Yale, peacefully asleep. She took a shower and decided to stay there longer than usual, hoping the water would clear her mind. When she was done, she got dressed and went down for breakfast. She met Carl on the table. He was on the phone, calling someone. Whoever it was, the person had him all smiling and turning red. She walked to the refrigerator and took out an apple. She came back to the table before burying her teeth in it. He was still smiling over the call

"I have to go. My cousin just came down. I will uhm, give you a call later on in the day" he said, looking at Beth for no reason.
