I enjoy the novel but after not reading for a while to let chapters build up I come back and see he only released 2 chapters since I stopped and on top of that either the author or webnovel decided to lock the chapters again and I’m not spending money to buy chapters that will be locked again

Author, I have read some of it and I may say, you are doing good tbh. The story where it is going, I feel it will be great. It's just that, give a little insight into how the character looks, I can't imagine all of them, other than that, everything going superb.
