Cain sighed, irritated but refusing to give in to his frustration. The Abyssal Core had forced its way into his heart, and even if it might eventually prove beneficial, the fact that it had imposed itself on him infuriated him. He was a Master of Order, a man who shaped his own fate, not one to allow his path to be dictated by external forces.

Throwing a tantrum wouldn't change anything so Cain took a deep breath and calmed himself. Knowledge and power were the keys to this problem. If he increased his strength and understanding, he would be able to discern the true nature of the Abyssal Core and, more importantly, know what to do about it.

'I can do nothing about the core now, so I should focus on more pressing matters.' Cain turned his attention back to Astor, the unconscious young man lying before him, still oblivious to the fate that awaited him. It was time to deal with the boy who had dared to ambush him and attempt to steal from him.
