"Let go of her!" Suddenly someone lunged at Eric from behind and dug her claws all the way through his shoulders. At the same time a gunshot was heard followed by Aurora's scream.
Kiara had been following them without getting in the eye all this time. Seeing everything going wrong all she could think of was to attack him and Victor shot her without wasting a moment. After the chaos had passed Kiara was seen lying on the ground groaning in pain. Dark blood was oozing from her side and so did from Eric's shoulders where her claws had been pierced through. He let out a hoarse moan as he straightened his shoulders to stop them from stretching and making the wounds worse.
Aurora wailed looking at her sister and she kicked Eric's legs harder, screaming. "Let me go! You Monster!"
For apparent reasons Eric's arm loosened around her and she jumped on the ground in no time, running towards Kiara who was being examined by Xobaria. "Always the trouble maker." She mumbled under her breath, looking at her wounds.
The metal bullet had seemingly gone through her side and had come out from the other side instead of getting stuck inside her body. Aurora instantly ran around to fetch something and in no time she came back with a few big leaves which Xobaria carefully wrapped around Kiara's body in order to stop the blood.
Meanwhile Victor helped Eric take off the blood wetted cloak. Eric took off his shirt and tore it apart in strips before wrapping it over his wounds and tying it in the front to keep it in place.
"I didn't mean to kill her." Victor whispered to his side.
"She isn't dead yet." He took the cloak from Victor's hands and slipped it on once again. "And won't be. It didn't seem to have hit any of her major organs."
"Why did you do that?" Tears streamed down Aurora's face as she kneeled down beside Kiara and took her hand in her own.
"I couldn't let them…Ah…"
"Shhhhh, don't strain yourself. It's going to be alright." Aurora cupped her face in one hand as she bent over to kiss her forehead. "Just…Ahh!"
She was about to say something when a strong hand steeled around her forearm, swiping her up on her feet. "No! Let go of my arm you…"
"Stop it!" He grabbed both of her shoulders and pulled her closer as he yelled. "If you want the safety of your sister and mother, do as I say or I won't be as gentle."
His grip hurt her but in all of that pain her mind didn't register that little pain as anything noticeable.
"Aurora, go!" Xobaria finally broke the fast of silence. Her tone didn't hold a request but a command. Aurora looked at her unbelievably. "Don't put your sister's life in more danger."
"No, Rory…mother pleas…" Kiara tried to protest but then she started coughing violently, little blood coming out of her mouth.
"I'll go but please don't kill her…please I beg you." She looked in the silver eyes of the man. His eyes reminded her of metal and stones, tough and incapable of melting. She wasn't sure if her request will have any impact on him.
"Alright, we have a deal then." He shrugged and Victor put the gun back in his pocket that had been aimed at Kiara and Xobaria all this time.
Listening to that, Xobaria immediately stood up and picked up Kiara in her arms as she turned around to leave. But before that she stopped to look at Aurora one last time and then left hurriedly towards the inside of the island. Weeping, Aurora tried to run after them but once again, his arms were around her waist as he was dragging her in the ship along with him.
"Don't make it harder, Princess." He almost threw her in the ship and the next thing he did was completely unexpected for Aurora.
Without giving her any time to think about it, he took out a metal cufflink from somewhere and cuffed his wrist with hers. Apparently he was blocking all of her ways of escape. Where she thought that she may jump in the ocean and swim deeper in the depths where these humans could never reach or catch her, he had bound her with him. She didn't know if she would be able to break this thing by any means without alerting him.
Victor had started sailing the ship and just like before, Eric was guiding him while Aurora just sat on the base of the ship, staring blankly at her home that was slowly going far and further away. The embellishments in her hair and over her body were still there but her hair had become a tangled mess. Her tears had started drying above her face because she hadn't bothered wiping them off.
Eric spared a glance to her side and then sat beside her, keeping a little distance. Since they were physically chained together he couldn't sit elsewhere and he didn't want to push her any further. It was already too much for her and he wondered if that fragile looking little girl could handle it. He needed her alive and healthy to use her blood.
Feeling the constant stare at her face, Aurora tilted her head sideways and her eyes met his icy ones once again.
"I hate you with everything I have inside me."
