Chapitre 4: One Man army 2
-3 days later-
Its been 3 days. We have been fighting non-stop. The enemy changes shifts so half of them attacks in the morning while the other half attacks at night.
In the mornings we can manage to hold our ground cause we work as a team but at night, I need to sleep because the mental exhaustion. so monarch can only fall back slowly at night. But Thanks to the low lighting, she does pretty good job at killing the enemy. I sleep in the cockpit of the monarch. Its not the most confortable bed, I wake up many times because how shaky it is. But desperate times needs desperate solutions.
I dont know how much more monarch's systems handle being in the combat 24/7 for 3 days straight. So I might just take controll of the monarch at mornings while monarch shuts herself down untill night.but that brings us the question, how can monarch heal without energy cells? Normally pilots refill a titans energy but if she closes herself, I might not get out from her because that would leave her vulnerable.
-4 days later-
Monarch needed to shut herself down. Her systems are a mess. Now everytime she operates more than 4 hours, strange codes apear in my screen. So now I can only sleep for 4 hours a day. If we consider we are constantly under fire, I can only get sleep about 2 or 3 hours a day. My aim got significantly worse. Now I cant even hit something further than 200 meters. I know it is still far but considering we are fighting an army, its bad.
One Day, I decided to scout an area for us to rest so I went outside of the city while monarch faught. And suprise suprise. There is an invisible wall preventing us from leaving the city too far.
-3 days later-
The city is now in completely ruins. There are no walls to take cover. Even the giant tower fell. I am currently fighting while having half of the shields on monarch's body open. The hands on monarch's body are doing Wonders but even they start to over heat. The energy cells titans use can go for a week. Monarch has 4 of them but is constantly using energy on moving, recharging the bodyshield, and deploying shields ect.
Right now I am rushing towards an enemy. The rotating cannon is broken and I cant use it because it slows me down. The last thing I need right now is more bullets to my shield. I dropped every other gun because they were already broken from over use. The only thing I have right now is a giant sword. I deflect some bullets and do a perfect horizontal slash. The titan is cut in two from its waist.
I kneel down and open all of my shields. I quickly jump out from monarch under heavy fire and manage to get the energy cell from the titan. Monarch takes heavy fire from the enemy and its shields are nearly down. I climb on top of her and insert the energy cell. Before going in the cockpit I take her eye out from its place because she is no longer working. She stopped working last night so I can no longer sleep.
I quickly get in the cockpit and start to run towards the enemy. They are not stoping even though I am running towards them. I cut one of the titan's arm and kick it towards another. A titans runs towards me holding his knife. I block his knife with my sword and slice him in half with a vertical slash. The shields' time is running out so I deactivate them. Every bullet that was in my shields spread across the battle field and it takes out 3 titans.
The titan I kicked tries to get up but I am too Fast for it and stab my sword right through its front plates. The sword gets stuck in the ground behind the titan. I put my foot on the titan, right when I was going to take out my sword, a titan aproaches behind me. I take my knife from my leg and stab him in the front plates. The titan falls down while I take out my sword from the other titan.
Another titan titan tries to stab me from the back but I am too fast and turn around while swinging my sword. The sword doesnt goes through and gets stuck half way. But it does the job and the pilot is dead. Another titan comes from my left so I drop my sword and punch it. The titan with my sword falls down un-moving.
I punch the titan and it staggers a little bit but quickly attacks back with its knife. I use the back of my hand to re-direct it even though not much. The knife misses so I use the opportunity and throw a right hook to its front plates. It tries to go back a few steps but I stop it by grabbing with my other arm and punch its front plates again, again, again and again. Untill I clearly see that the titan is not moving because the pilot inside got smashed. I let go of it and it falls down like the rest of them before. I look around me and see that no titans so far, so i quickly stim myself. Even though I am not injured, it helps me stay awake. I see 20 titans approaching from my left so I pick up my sword and knife. And I start to run towards them.
-2 days later-
I- I did it. I finally did it. All those pain and suffering ends today. Finally. I take a look around me and see that everybody is dead. Monarch's body is nearly broken from all those stress its been through. But, there is something wrong. I didnt get the system message. Are some of them hiding? No that shouldn't be possible. There is no place to hide in this flat battlefield. Hiding as corpses maybe?
I suddenly hear titans droping from the sky. I look up and see that 5 titans are going to land near me. *BOOM*X5 all of them landed. They got up and look at me. The Red legion with yellow stripes in the middle steps up and says "Wow nice job. I couldn't even imagine a single person doing this." What is he talking about? This is a battlefield and he is talking with the enemy. Fuck. He is probably a villain who like to talk about his evil plans or some shit.
A woman in the purple Northstar answers with an erotic voice "Well, He isn't her Apprentice for no reason. I've been wanting to look under the hood of that titan for a while."
"I guess he earned the seat." says a man in a yellow and black Scorch.
"I dont trust him. He is the enemy. What gurantee we have that he wont betray us?" asks a teenager in the blue Ion.
"You shouldn't trust anybody." says a woman with Stern voice in the white Ronin
They are talking right infront of their enemy. They are fucking underestimating me. The system didnt give me a message because they are probably the last boss for this wave.
If they are going to ignore me like this, then I am going to use it to my advantage. I cant drag this fight for long because I am nowhere near my peak condition. Hell, I might even falldown right now if it wasnt for the stims.
I decide to attack. I quickly throw my sword at the purple Northstar. "Wha-" the Northstar couldn't even react. My sword doesnt goes all the way through but it probably killed the pilot. I dont have time to get my sword back so I run run towards the blue ion. They were suprised so they couldn't react Fast enough. I take my knife and stab it right through Ion's eye. Its eye is at the front plate so the knife disabled ions front panels as Well. It staggers back so I quickly grab his gun and kick him in the chest so it lets go of the gun. I shoot one of its legs and it goes down because it cant use its leg anymore.
I quickly turn around but I am greeted with a pure white glowing sword! Is slices through my shields like a butter and cuts my arm off. Before it can attack again, I quickly back away but Ronin is fast and boosts infront of me. I need to use my Trump card. I throw a punch towards Ronin. Ronnin does a vertical slash and slices my fist and arm in half! But it doesnt matter because my fist that was sliced in half still reaches Ronnin's front plates in two pieces. It gets thrown away by the powerfull punch. Its blade is stuck in my arm. If it wen a little bit more, it could've cut into my cockpit. Both of my hands are useless but thank god that my Trump card doesnt involve my hands.
Three Red lazer comes out from my from plates and aims the ronnin. The lazers meet at the middle and a powerfull lazer comes out from my front plates. Yes this is ion's core. with a little tweaking, I managed to fit it inside monarch although it eats a huge amount of energy. The Ronnin's front plates melts away as it tries to shield itself from my lazer with it's arms. But no avail as I can see through it's hull.
"REY! NOOO!" the man in the scorch shouts. So I target him next. The lazer hits him in the square chest. He puts his hands infront of him but its useless. I melt his arms and little bit of it's front of his plates. "YOU ARE GONNA PAY FOR THAT!" The scorch doesnt gives up and tanks the whole lazer. The lazer stops and I look to see if he is alive.
The scorch is still living and starts to slowly walk towards me. Wait weren't there a legion? I look around me to see the legion but when I turned back, I meet with a punch to the front plates. I fall down. I cannot get up without arms so I decided to eject. I already got monarch's eye with me so I dont have to worry about losing her.
"oh no you don't." I hear a angry voice. But when I try to eject, he puts his gun on the ejecting place so the safety gets triggered and prevents me from ejecting. He turns me around and punches monarch's front plates. The hand reaches the cockpit, he grabs me and takes me out of the cockpit.
"You hurt my men and you are going to pay for it." He says and throws me to the ground. I crash to the ground and roll for a little bit. He gets out of his titan and walks towards me. I try to get up but no avail. I am too tired. "Fucking idiot!" He punches my helment. "We were talking about recruiting you. And you repay us by attacking us!" He kicks my jaw. I fall on my back.
*caugh* "who. the fuck. Recruits. an enemy." I say to him.
"YOU MOTHERFU-" right when he was about to kick me again, a man interrups him "I think that is enough Mr. Walker.
"ENOUGH?! HE KILLED MY MEN!"
"Yes, Yes. I know, Its tragic. But we need him alive" the man says in a calm voice. Hearing that I wont die, I relaxed without knowing. And lose consciousness...
