Qiao Jing didn't even glance at Xu Moqian, continuing with her work at hand.
"It seems you're really quite idle," she noted.
Xu Moqian shrugged his shoulders, found a stool to sit, and said, "I heard from the old man that you guys have been working on a project recently, so I came to check on the progress. Wait a moment, why do you look so pale?"
He swallowed the rest of his words as soon as he noticed Qiao Jing's pallor.
Qiao Jing's stomach clenched again, and she bent over, clutching her mouth, her face growing paler as she retched several times.
She knew this was a normal reaction to pregnancy, but having Xu Moqian witness it twice, she was sure he was going to come up with his own wild theories again.
Just when Qiao Jing felt a bit better and was ready to get back to work, the urge to vomit surged once more.
She rushed to the bathroom and retched into the sink for a while.
