So instead of covering our ears, which will look and feel terribly awkward, we just head instead near the entrance of the open-air theater. We're all getting hungry, anyway.

And by happenstance, we come across a guy who's strangely familiar.

He is several inches shorter than me, and a part of his black hair sticks out no matter the hairstyle he employs.

He's my middle school classmate, Austin Goddard.

"Fred!"

"Austin!"

"Long time no see!"

We vigorously shake hands upon learning of this unexpected reunion, and I promptly introduce him to the girls, and the girls do the same.

"So I've heard you're participating in the festival, right?"

"Yes. But we, as Brave Ad 65, will get to perform tomorrow. And you?"

"I'm now blogging the festival as we speak. As you must know, I specialize in the cultural workings of our city."

"Nice! Now before we all get hungry…"

"Well, I'm gonna treat you all to some snacks."

"Sweet!"
