Finally, after several minutes of complete anarchy and slaughter, the weapon clicked but didn't fire. The ammo had run out, and so had the slaughter. Still, at least two or thirty pirates survived by ducking behind the dead bodies and using their friends' corpses as shields.
"It's... it's... stopped..."
"It's over... it's finally over!"
The surviving pirates breathed heavily, gasping for air. They mumbled in fear and shock as they looked at the Reaper.
Draven shook both of his hands, which felt numb after firing the weapon continuously and enduring the recoil. His shoulders felt like they were about to dislocate at any second. But Draven cracked his elbows and looked at the gruesome sight of the pirates' bodies.
"I've got the king, queen, and the others," Sarah informed Draven. In the distance, Draven saw the airship taking off, and he heaved a sigh of relief.
