Day Ninety-One…
"Tell me everything. What did Vincent and Monica do to you?" Nathan asked her again.
The smile on Jane's lips disappeared at the mention of those names.
"I can't. I want to gain your trust so that you can love me. But I don't want you to pity me. Loving me is different from pitying me, Nate." Jane lowered her gaze, biting her lower lip.
This time Jane looked vulnerable in front of him. Her playfulness was gone.
Nathan's heart constricted, watching her sad expression.
"I'm not pitying you." Nathan softly said, lifting her chin so that she could look him in the eyes. "I want to hear your story. Your past. Because I am interested in you. I want to understand you more…"
Jane was taken aback for a moment upon hearing his sincere words.
