Within no time, Alejandro pulled into the campus and I found my car parked at my old dorm. Orlando and I got out and I opened the driver's door and unlocked it for Orlando to get into the passenger seat.
"It stinks in here," Orlando mentioned when he stuck his nose up in the air with this revolted expression. Once I started the car he rolled down his window all the way.
"It's Kai's cologne," I rolled my eyes telling him. Obviously, he should know Kai and I shared this car.
"Yeah, don't remind me," Orlando got aggravated.
"Why don't you ride with your brother?" I asked and even glared at him for behaving like this. Quite frankly, I was growing tired of Orlando and Kai and their egos toward each other.
"I'm good," Orlando lightened up. "I just really hate him, that's all."
"Let's just go shopping," I said passively and ignored him.
After driving for nearly thirteen minutes Orlando said. "I'm sorry for behaving like that."
"It's cool," I scarcely mumbled while trying to hold in my annoyance toward him. "Let's just get this done, so we can head back."
"Go to the nearest Apple store," Orlando told me.
"That's out of my price range," I said bitterly since he seems to have forgotten I am on a budget.
"Just trust me," he said persistently. I sighed annoyingly since I knew this side of him well. So I drove along and arrived at the apple store and parked my car at the front door.
Together Orlando and I walked into this iPhone apple store for me to buy a new phone. Already I knew by one glimpse there was no way I could afford anything here.
"Hello, how may I help you?" I tech sale's man came up and asked as I was browsing the displays of iPhones, tablets, desktops, iPods, computers, and whatever else they were selling.
The whole store screamed futuristically and everything was downright expensive. Quite frankly, all of these electronics were out of my budget. But thanks to Orlando here we are about to waste this man's time.
"I'm looking for a phone that is under a hundred," I told the man.
"Hmm," he hummed skeptically, thinking. "We might have some refurbished or even used outdated iPhones that might or might not be around your price range."
"That's not what I am looking for," I said defeated, and glared at Orlando for bringing me to this place. "Thank you for your help."
"No, wait, get her the latest edition iPhone flip," Orlando said at random.
"I can do that," gleefully said the tech man.
This was getting ridiculous and so I argued more annoyed. "Orlando, I can't afford that." The poor tech guy looked between us awkwardly. I could tell he wasn't sure whether to stay or walk away. Either way, I knew he wouldn't give up the opportunity to make a sale. "This is a waste of my time, Orlando! You should have left with your brother."
People glanced over from hearing me argue with this frustrating twin. Embarrassment flared my cheeks red and Orlando smiled heartily at me even though I was chewing his ears off.
"For everything you are going through. I am buying you a phone in full," Orlando insisted with caring eyes that I can never refuse.
"I don't have the money to pay you back," I tried saying but he dismissed me by looking at the seemingly confused tech man.
Surprisingly, he was still standing there listening to Orlando and me bicker about this. Better yet, I should say listening to me bicker at him is probably a more accurate statement.
"Please, go get her phone ready," Orlando told him. "Put her on the Mill account and get her everything ready. Including a case and I want the phone waterproof."
"Yes, sir." The tech man said more respectfully from learning he was Orlando Mill. Then he walked off.
"Orlando, why would you do that?" I scorned him while trying to keep my voice down from the other shoppers.
Orlando stopped me at this one display showcasing a computer.
Then he took my hands and said softly. "Because I'm hoping to make things right between us. I wanna be with you. I wanna marry you. I love you, Victoria. I know I can't buy your love but I wanna at least try and be here for you. I don't care how long I have to wait for you to finally realize how sorry I am and how serious I am about you. But I will do whatever I can till I prove to you that I am serious about us being together and having a family one day."
Shockingly, his words touched the core of my stubborn heart. He melted that resentment away but I had to remain grounded.
I slid my hands free and then said neutrally. "Let's just get my phone and head back, so I can find a new place to live." I shot him down and brushed off his fond words like they didn't affect me.
At first, sheer pain struck his heart as an iron knife. Until he looked into my serious gaze for a second. Then this twinkle of hope lit up in his eyes. Orlando knew me all too well. I know he saw my bluff. He knew slowly, he was breaking down the stubborn wall I'd held up against him. Not even I can deny the love I have for him. For as long as he knew my feelings for him were there in the hiding. Orlando will never give up on a future with me. A little piece of me never wants to give up either but I just can't let go of the fact, he was in bed with Ashley.
"I have everything set up," the tech man replied with a big smile when he returned.
"Pick out whatever you want for your phone, Victoria." Orlando smiled at me but I brushed it off and he helped me look.
Hours have gone by since I got my new phone. Once we returned to the mansion, Orlando helped me look for apartments but by the end of the search for tonight. I still found nothing available. After telling everyone goodnight, I crashed into Orlando's bed for some much-needed sleep.
