On a random street in the upscale area of Seoul, Eunji was driving the car that was being used by her, just for now... She couldn't trust her father's benevolence much.

She didn't particularly like driving, sometimes it was good to keep your mind occupied or make time pass more quickly... She drove more out of obligation and sometimes out of necessity.

Well, now there was a need, let go of the man hired by her father, she didn't want someone she didn't trust at all to be driving her up and down and then going over each of her steps as if she were a small child who needed special care.

Eunji was particularly feeling extremely tired and a little bored, the apartment she was going to live in wasn't ready yet and she didn't have much more than a hotel room at the moment and she wanted to see people and see people living their lives.

She didn't even like people very much, but she needed to change her routine a little.

So she decided to drive to an old place from when she was still in school.

Well. Really. It's strange to say that Eunji used to go to a bar during her teenage years, especially when she would do her homework there.

She was a great friend of the owner of the place and to get away from the troubled environment that was her home, Eunji would always spend hours and hours in that bar, listening to drunk people laughing and crying.

She didn't know if it was just a family habit, everyone in the Kim family could drink a lot, but she had lived some time in her life watching people drinking and talking about their own preferences about alcohol.

At a certain point she wanted to try it to understand what people were talking about and one glass leads to another... Another.

But she wasn't very interested in crying, but she always ended up listening to the stories of the loneliest people who saw that young girl who only had a glass of milk and some cookies with her. It was a bit annoying at times, no one would let her out of the owner's sight and she would always stay at the counter.

But the crying and the whining always had a few things in common and some were for love and others for work.

Sometimes it was for both reasons. Sometimes sadness and emptiness. Fill it with alcohol.

Once she met a Russian guy who couldn't say much more than 'sad' and 'food' in Korean, but for some reason he always helped Eunji do math calculations.

He was just an old man, at one point he disappeared and she never saw him again, people sometimes went to the bar once and never came back.

So for Eunji it served to teach her that some things will be temporary in her life.

She just didn't expect so many things to be like this.

She also heard some of the employees cursing their bosses a lot and the simple thought of her now being the boss made her feel really funny. When my ears are hot, I should know that I'm being cursed.

Life really was a great irony, right?

The young Eunji finally arrived at the familiar place, few things had changed. The smell of tobacco mixed with whiskey was still there.

How could she explain that an indoor place had people smoking? She never understood, but there would always be people smoking in the corners.

But it was true that now there were many more people smoking than before and there were even tables outside for them to drink while smoking.

Maybe some things had changed.

She turned off the car and grabbed her bag, it wasn't cold, but she got cold easily. So she just put her coat over her shoulders.

She could see the stars in the sky and the moon also seemed big and bright.

With slow steps she finally entered.

The bar had an elegant and clean atmosphere, quiet with only ambient music in the background. But you could hear the sound of glass gently tapping against the wood of the tables and the counter.

Eunji's friend was called Seo Mi Joo, a tall woman with strong traces of her Russian and Korean origins. Extremely beautiful and good-natured.

You wouldn't say she was born in Korea. So she pretended to be a foreigner a lot.

The bar belonged to her father, who was a Korean man and her mother was a tall blonde Russian.

The woman was 28 years old and had been living in Korea for at least a decade and after her father's death she decided to keep the bar, so she had been taking care of that place for maybe two years.

But she kept almost all of her father's old businesses, whatever they were... The bar offered the most diverse services, after all the customer was always right.

You could have a good drink and then go out with a beautiful girl for a less lonely and cold night, always in cash and payment upon departure.

Mi Joo, besides being the owner, also really liked to work preparing drinks. She would stand by the bar chatting happily with the drunks and they always seemed to get along well, she seemed to understand the drunken mind that only they had.

She acted like her father, he had the same habit of standing at the bar chatting with drunks.

The woman smiled widely when she saw her young friend and couldn't contain her urge to hug her and ran towards Eun-ji and crushed her as hard as she could.

Eunji almost died inside, the tattoo hurt like crazy.

"Eunji! What a surprise, you're back?! My God, my God! How long have you been away? Half a century?"

The girl smiled at the corner of her mouth, it was so good to see a friendly face.

But her friend's love was suffocating her and now filling her with pain. "Idiot, it's only been 4 years."

Mi Joo smiled, feeling funny, and gave her friend a little slap on the forehead.

"Mi Joo! That hurts!"

"It's supposed to hurt! How come you haven't come to visit me once in all this time?"

"I haven't set foot in Korea for 4 years..."

4 years without going home was surprising, to say the least. Mi Joo felt curious. Were the problems still the same? She had always known about Eunji's terrible relationship with her brothers.

Eunji didn't like to talk much about her personal life, and it was a little annoying how she always kept to half-words. How could anyone keep a conversation like that?!

"Still your parents?!"

Eunji typed something on her cell phone just to avoid talking about the subject. She hated talking about her family, parents, and siblings.

How am I supposed to care about them?!

In reality, Eunji hated talking about her parents, siblings, and business. For those who knew young Kim, they knew little about her relationship with her family. Everything was a big blur.

Annoying and boring.

Eunji leaned her arms on the wooden counter and smiled disdainfully.

She played with her cell phone, swinging it from side to side, and if it fell... Well, it fell.

"I had something more interesting to do in London at the time, but I don't anymore."

Eun-ji had never been involved with men, she didn't have the patience to deal with them. She thought it was a huge waste of time to dedicate time and effort to romantic situations, at least she regretted it every time she tried and the biggest disappointment she had was because of this very subject, so avoid it.

Mi Joo went back behind the bar knowing that Eunji wouldn't say much, as always quiet and silent... Annoying.

Eunji rubbed her forehead a little irritated by the slap and also trying to find some kind of position that wouldn't hurt her back, the hug really hurt the place of the tattoo.

But yes. Old friendships never seemed to change. Despite everything, she went back to the old bar and saw her old friend.

Eunji sat in a more reserved place in the corner of the bar and waited for her friend to approach with some glasses, curiously it was the place she always sat in the past with the pile of books, milk and cookies.

"What do you want to drink?" Eun-ji put her cell phone aside and finally turned her eyes to Mi Joo, she stared at the thousands of bottles on display, nothing seemed really interesting to her eyes.

"Can you give me a whiskey neat."

Mi Joo laughed funny, did that girl still have a liver? Every time she saw her drink it was always whiskey neat, she didn't drink cocktails and didn't even dare to put a few measly ice cubes in it.

The smoothest drink she had ever seen Eunji drink was a martini neat.

That girl was annoyingly interesting.

"I always manage to surprise you with your taste for drinks Eunji..."

Eunji smiled. "It seems that a bitter life is part of my routine."

Mi Joo picked up the bottle of her best whiskey and poured exactly two fingers of drink into the glass. "You really came back from London a great poet, are you going to recite Shakespeare?!"

Eunji took the glass and she just rolled her eyes in response. "Idiot."

Mi Joo started to prepare a drink for herself, drinking with old friends always sounded good. Well, Eunji was the friend she had that excited her the most. Always so interesting and exciting.

"That makes me curious, why are you back?"

"Business."

The skilled bartender finally poured her ready-made drink into her glass and finished it off by putting a cherry in it. "Piña colada?!"

Mi Joo offered the glass to Eunji, all she did was look at the creamy and appetizing drink, she could already imagine it would be sweet. Sounds good.

Eunji smiled already knowing where this story would end... Isn't it obvious? In a bed.

Mi Joo took the cherry and placed it next to Eun-ji's lips, how could that girl be so beautiful?! "I thought you were with a girlfriend in London that's why you never remembered me anymore... How about full service today?"

Seo Mi Joo could only feel mesmerized by Eunji, should they reminisce about the old days?! Of course, why not?!

Eunji laughed. She knew well how Mi Joo took care of the family business, money always seemed welcome regardless of its origin.

"Are you still involved in this?"

"I just continued all the work my father did inside this bar..."

Eunji looked around the bar and didn't see many girls, they were probably busy with some customers.

She now felt curious about who would be offered to her. "I know. Who would be the person this time?"

Mi Joo took a sip of her drink and looked thoughtful. "Hmmm. Me. I'm serving you exclusively as my only customer."

Eunji laughed, they hadn't done that in a long time. "Do I have to pay to sleep with my best friend?"

"No. Today it's on the house... An unmissable promotion."

Mi Joo brought her face closer to Eunji's and whispered close to the other's ear. "...You look really good in that dress shirt, can I rip it?"

"Idiot."
