Chapitre 27: Chapter 27: Vistor in the Night

Oksana paced back and forth in her private guest room routinely looking out of the open window as she waited for word from her guards. She had sent riders out two days ago and they had returned without any word of Assar. She had ordered them to stake out the guild hall until he returned, but another day later and still they hadn’t sent word he was back.

“What happened? He told me not to worry, but he's a half-blood in a city of purebloods who’d try to either kill him or enslave him without a second thought,” she muttered out loud as she continued pacing.

Why was she so worried? He knew what he was doing! Didn’t he?

“This is so frustrating! Why does he insist on being difficult with everything?”

Oksana wasn’t accustomed to being this worried. She couldn’t understand why she was so worried about a half-blood she had only heard about a week and a half ago! It was infuriating. How did he have this power over her? How?
