Cora moaned softly, seeking more of what had been given to her. It was the most exquisite thing she had ever tasted. It lit up her taste buds one after another with the rich liquid that somehow tasted like the meaning of life. 

How could something taste like that? How could something taste like all the beginnings and endings of creation? But it was true. She was suddenly flushed with the breathtaking awareness of the force that was the secret to all life in the world. She was partaking in it, and it was the most precious, brilliant thing she had ever experienced.

Theo held his wrist for her, and she found it with her lips, latching on and beginning to drink more—to pull more of him and of this ecstasy into herself. Somehow she was able to taste the feelings and emotions that threaded through him as well, and the warmth spread through her tissues, making them appear pink with life again.
