Chapitre 53: Gia

"Oh, thank Goddess," Greta said when her daughter walked in the door. She ran to her and gave her a hug. But then her relief quickly turned to anger. "Where in the world have you been? Why would you disappear and not tell me where you're going? With everything that is going on, Gia? What were you thinking?" 

"I'm sorry, mom," Gia said, her cheeks turning a scarlet color. Even though she was an adult, scoldings from her parents still made her feel like a pup. 

Her father strode in calmly from the other room and kissed her mother on the head. 

"I told you she was fine," Sam said, sending a wink Gia's way. The small gesture made her smile. He ruffled Gia's hair that was the same auburn color as his own. 

"Your scent is strange," Greta said, her eyes narrowing to her daughter. "Where were you?"
