Chapitre 99: Distract and Destroy

Cairo and Mira stocked up on weapons and ammo and put on their scavenger gear. When they were ready, they hopped onto their hoverbikes and joined Kevin near the shelter entrance. 

"Secure access code: Quark twenty-nine omega six. Open the main blast door," Mira spoke aloud.

As the door started opening, the twins activated flight mode on their hoverbikes and sped out of the shelter. After a short run on the landing strip, their thrusters popped out, and they became airborne. 

They continued to climb upward until they reached an elevation of seven hundred meters above ground level. From this height, they had a clear, unobstructed view of the arid zone. The machines still hadn't reached the desert.

"You ready, sis?" Cairo asked, twisting the throttle on her bike.

"Let's do this," Mira replied, bumping her left fist with her sister.

Without wasting another second, the girls sped off towards the south to bait the drones.
