Where are the others? Zande thought, withholding herself strongly from panicking in front of the creature whose ugliness and scent was upsetting her stomach and threatening to cause the upheaval of the contents of her belly. 

Noticing that she was unable to break free from the monster, she decided to employ her music to free herself. But just when she was about to open her mouth, the vampire, the hard glint strengthening in his eyes, moved the maggot on his finger toward her mouth.

"You think I don't know of your prowess?" He asked rhetorically. "If you dare open your mouth to sing or shout, this my lovely friend here will go into your mouth immediately. And I don't think you would like that, or would you, my lady?" the vampire asked, beginning to draw her away from the tent. But Zande kept mute, her mind going in different directions on how she could get rid of the monster.
