Using the excuse of my pregnancy, Ren excused us both to return to the harem, though I had been given my own palace I only wanted to live inside of hers.

She was a little tipsy as she helped me walk, with four servants following behind quietly, giving us just enough distance for privacy if we talked low enough.

"Are you okay?" She asked, pulling me close to her side. 

"Never mind me, are you okay?" I giggled at her flushed face. 

"Oh, one of the concubines laced my drink, likely to embarrass me, those girls can be so petty," she shrugged, "no biggie, System's already purging it."

"Why didn't you say?" I sighed, pulling her to walk faster. 

Once inside her beautiful, remote palace, I ordered the servants to run her a cold bath and fetch us water.
