"Miss Lydia, Miss Vivian, I didn't expect you to be out for a walk on a cloudy day!" I stood up from the swing. Lydia held a red leash in her hand, and a short-haired black medium-sized dog stood between her and Vivian. The black dog had a round toy in its mouth and its drool hanging from the corner of its mouth. It stared at me warily as if I was its prey.
"Princess Madeleine has moved to her manor. Before she left, she told us to take good care of Duke for her. So, it's time for Duke's walk! Lydia patted the Black dog's head as if she was talking to her son. "Oh, baby Duke! Do you want to play fetch? Go ahead!"
Lydia took the ball out of Duke's mouth and threw it into the distance. Duke immediately ran in the direction of the ball.
"I heard you were sick, Miss Annie!" Vivian said maliciously. "Were you scared?"
