As Kenji was scrolling on his phone, he saw a news that shocked him slightly.
"Gun-Hee found a successor?" Kenji muttered as he clicked on the article.
"Let's see who it is." Kenji muttered, as he fast read through thousands of words, before finally managing to get the name.
"Sung Jin-Woo. Wait, that sounds familiar. Where have I heard him before?" Kenji seems to think for a few seconds before snapping his fingers.
"Ah! He's that kid whose mother was the first person to be cured by my Senzu Bean from the eternal slumber. Damn, it's been a few months since then, and I didn't expect him to reach this far." Kenji smiled, as he continued reading.
So far, Jin-Woo became an S-rank hunter after his mana was tested as immeasurable by the machine that could sense a hunter's mana capacity.
"Is he perhaps a reawakened?" Kenji muttered again as he tried to search more for his information.
"I see, so he's an assassin? I mean, his weapons are a pair of daggers, so it must be."
Kenji could even see a photo of Jin-Woo and Gun-Hee shaking hands, as they both smiled at the camera.
"Is this really him? Did he just hit puberty? Damn." Kenji was shocked greatly by the change of Jin-Woo.
If before, he looks like a normal teenager full of innocence, now Jin-Woo looks like a celebrity with tons of experience.
"I didn't think reawakening should be like this." Kenji muttered as he suspiciously stared at the photo of Jin-Woo.
"Fuck it, since I have free time, I'll just meet up with him." Kenji put his phone down, before flying outside his home once again.
The moment he arrived in front of the entrance of the Korean Hunter's Association, he was greeted by a flash of camera lights.
"Hunter Kenji, Hunter Kenji. Are you also here to participate in the Jeju Island raid?" A reporter tried to ask him.
"Jeju Island? Oh! That, I actually forgot about it, anyways, what's going on?" Kenji scratched the back of his neck as he tried to divert the topic.
Everyone just rolled their eyes at him, while the reporters explained the situation.
"Oh, I see. Then I'll have a meeting with the director, and let's see what happens." Kenji answered for the last time before entering the building. Some reporters still tried to ask him for more questions, but Kenji just ignored them.
As he entered, he was met by Sung Jin-Woo who he guessed must have rushed here when he sensed him.
However, there is something that shocked him greatly. Kenji could feel some strange power inside Jin-Woo that was mixed with a Ruler's power.
Kenji's eyes grew cold, as he stared at Jin-Woo, trying to see through his soul.
Meanwhile, Sung Jin-Woo was shocked, as at first, Kenji seemed happy to see him, only for them to change into a cold one as soon as he got close.
'Did I do something wrong?' Jin-Woo thought to himself.
"Jin-Woo, can we talk in private?" Kenji asked him.
"Sure, sure. This way." Jin-Woo immediately agreed, this cold side of Kenji has been bothering him, and he wanted to solve this misunderstanding or something.
As they got inside the private room, Kenji immediately asked him.
"Tell me, are you a Ruler?"
"Ruler? What's that?" Jin-Woo raised his eyebrow, as this is the first time he heard the term Ruler, of course, with the exception of an actual ruler that is used in measuring.
Kenji could quickly tell that Jin-Woo isn't lying, so he relaxed his shoulders.
"Can you tell me what happened to you recently? I'm sure all of this didn't just come out of thin air, right?" Kenji didn't bother anymore and directly asked him.
Sung Jin-Woo got quiet, leaving only the clock ticking and the breathing noises they made.
Meanwhile, deep inside, Sung Jin-Woo was contemplating on whether he should tell Kenji about the system, but he only met him twice, and although he is grateful to him for curing his mother, that doesn't mean he would trust him.
Kenji could seem to guess what was on his mind, so he assured him.
"Don't worry, if it is a secret, then I won't pry anymore. But at least tell me something."
Sung Jin-Woo nodded, and summoned Igris from his shadow.
"Arise."
"...Fascinating." It was the only word that Kenji could utter, as he tried to see through Igris using his x-ray vision, but all he could see was endless darkness.
However, Kenji then realized something.
"Are you... The Shadow Monarch?" Kenji said, not knowing that he just dropped a bomb to Jin-Woo.
'What? How did he know my job? Can he see the system? But then, he wouldn't ask me about what happened.' Jin-Woo's eyes widened which Kenji took notice of, before Jin-Woo gathered his composure.
"Kenji-san, may I know how did you know about my 'Job'?" Jin-Woo asked, as he brought Igris back in his shadow.
"Job? You call being a monarch, a job? You must be nuts." Kenji chuckled, but when he saw Jin-Woo's confused face, he knew that something was wrong.
"Wait, you don't know about the Rulers and Monarchs?" Jin-Woo shook his head at Kenji's question.
"I see." Kenji nodded, as he could already visualize what was supposed to happen.
Maybe, Jin-Woo would also learn about the truth, when he dies like him, but now, since he didn't know about it yet, then Kenji won't interfere, as he has no right to tell him the truth yet.
"Anyways, ignoring my nonsense question, what about this Jeju Island raid that I've just heard earlier?" Kenji changed topics as quickly as your dad went to buy some milk.
"Well, we have arranged a raid team, composed of the cooperation of Korea and Japan Hunters." Jin-Woo explained.
"Wait, how come I don't know about this?" Kenji asked confusedly.
"Well, we tried to contact you, however we can't find you anywhere." Jin-Woo shrugged his shoulders.
'Oh yeah right, I stayed at the core of the sun for a few days, which is probably why they couldn't contact me.' Kenji chuckled to himself.
"Well, how about now that I'm here. Can I participate?" Kenji asked.
