Later that night after Mason had dropped Layla off at Jason's place and he had checked Jason to make sure that he was okay, he drove back home tired.
"Poor girl, I will go and see her tomorrow," Ava said referring to Layla.
"They both need us, now more than ever," Mason pulling his fingers through his hair.
"Yeah, they do."
Mason was quiet for a moment as he watched her. She was still angry with him for torturing the guy who had tried to kill Jason, and she was still making him sleep in the guest bedroom.
"How long is this going to continue?" Mason asked as he stood at the door of their bedroom watching Ava get ready for bed.
"Until you decide that you are no longer going to break your promise to me," Ava said, her back to him as she made the bed.
"You need more pillows? Are the ones in the guest room not enough? Or is it a duvet that you need?" Ava asked raising her head from making the bed to look at him.
