Layla was stuttering not knowing what to say as she turned to look at Mason. She didn't know if she should tell him about the discussion she had with her father or not.
Would that be a good idea? Mason might get mad at her and keep her away from Jason. She can't afford to not see him. It would kill her even more.
"Layla? Do you have something to tell me?" Mason asked her again.
Ava came and placed her hand on his arm. "Mason, I think you are scaring her," she whispered.
Mason kissed his wife on her temple, and said, "why don't you go inside and see if Jason has woken up? Layla and I are going to take a walk."
"Mason?" Ava warned.
"I promise we won't take long. Let's go for a walk Layla."
Layla followed Mason out of the waiting room and they both walked to the car park.
"Would you like to have coffee?" Mason asked her.
"No. I'm good," Layla replied in a soft voice.
