Ava was sitting in the spa where Mason had made a reservation for her and her friends.
Maddie and Layla flanked her on both sides. They were having their toenails done.
"Hmmm, this feels so good," Maddie softly moaned as she sipped some champagne.
"Your husband sure does know how to pamper a woman," Layla said, using the word Ava had used when she told them about Mason booking a full spa treatment for them.
"Just what I needed after all the stress," Maddie groaned.
"What is going on with you?" Ava asked Maddie.
"Trevor's mom is stressing me out!" The girl attending to Maddie was startled, and Maddie had to apologize.
Ava opened her eyes to look at Maddie. "What has she done again this time?"
"What else if not what she always does? Insulting my family and me. Thanksgiving dinner was horrible because of her. She had me wishing I had remained at home doing nothing."
