Chapitre 74: We have a good chemistry

After a good night's sleep, I woke up. I don't even know if a night has actually passed or not but I woke up exactly when my body usually tells me to. I will assume a night has passed.

Constant, my so called creator, is sleeping on his bunk. I get out of bed and look for the kitchen. But wait, this is just a white room. Does this even have a kitchen?

But my question was answered. A portion opened up and I could see a kitchen like space. It has everything a normal household kitchen has.

Maybe it has everything necessary and for the ingredients, I open the fridge and find everything. It has different types of meat, fish, dairy products, eggs, vegetables, all sorts of condiments and what not.

Hell, even deserts were there. The fridge definitely uses spatial manipulation to store more things. I take out some eggs and bacon.

I open the down drawer and find rice. Let's have it for lunch. But now I need bread. I open the big metal door which was beside the fridge and see stairs.

It leads down to the pantry. I find different types of bread as well. Let's just take some hard bread and leave. It'll make a nice breakfast.

I take some coffee beans to make coffee as well. Normally, I would doubt everything. How can everything be possible? Everything I need is here, even things that I was thinking of.

But I know how this is happening. So it's no use asking for an explanation.

I make breakfast quickly. Eggs and bacon with hard bread and coffee. A morning breakfast I consider ideal.

When I was thinking of where to eat, a dining table popped up. It's pretty convenient. Maybe this entire room is some sort of tool. I sit at the table and find Constant awake.

"You up yet?"

I ask him because he is still rubbing his eyes.

"Yeah. It has been a million years since I last slept. It feels nice to have someone together. When was the last time I even ate?" (Constant)

"Yeah yeah, now wash your face and have breakfast. It'll get cold."

He got down from his bunk and opened another portion in the wall, it's a bathroom. Damn, I didn't wash my own face, did I? Well, it doesn't matter.

He comes to the table and sits opposite to me. After the breakfast, he looks at me.

"Clearly, creating you this way was the right choice. You are everything a girl ever needs." (Constant)

"Mmhhhh…. I doubt it. It's true that my skills are perfect for housekeeping and I can work outside too. But I doubt a girl will ever be with me."

"True. My true feelings got in the way. I was kind of jealous about you being my better half." (Constant)

"You are my creator and my other half. You decided how I should be. Don't be jealous about it."

"I guess it was pretty childish? Anyway, about the trip, should we leave now?" (Constant)

"Why not? I am also curious about the outside world."

"It's probably nothing special, maybe. I haven't left this space is 200 billion years so I can't say." (Constant)

"You took the word shut-in to a new height."

"I am ashamed of it." (Constant)

He picked up the dishes and took it the sink to wash it. I think he could have just used his powers to do the dishes but he is actually washing it.

"Say, what gave you the inspiration to write a story?"

"My inspiration, huh? Let me see, it happened when I was 15, we were locked down due to a viral outbreak and I had nothing better to do. So I picked up the pen and started cramming everything that came to me in a paper. It was my first story. Whenever I read that, I wonder, was I really that cringey?" (Constant)

"Can I read it?"

"You wanna read it? I am fine with it." (Constant)

A bunch of paper appeared in my hand. I took a look at it. It's not much. Just a 13 page story. The handwriting was pretty bad. After reading the story, I look at him.

He is already done with the dishes and is looking at me.

"You really were cringey. How can you write something like this?"

"Well, I was only 15. Anyway, that story was an impulse. After it, I started writing occasionally. Most of the time, they would just be prototypes which I would never finish but then I actually posted a story online." (Constant)

"You mean on the internet? A web novel?"

"Yeah. It happened when I was 17. It was my birthday and I had nothing to do. My dad was actually saying something about posting my stories online, so I started a new story and posted it. Another impulse." (Constant)

"You really are an impulsive person, aren't you?"

"I can't deny that. Anyway, my life was pretty normal. My stories were subpar at best. No way, they were average and good. My student life ended. I joined the workforce. My parents died when I was 40. My dad was 81 and mom was 63. It was a plane crash." (Constant)

"My condolences."

"Don't be. My parents didn't even talk that much but for some reason, they spent 44 years together. Anyway, everything until that point was good." (Constant)

"Was? Meaning it started going downhill from there."

"Yeah. How about we talk as we leave? We can just t go there directly or would you rather walk to there?" (Constant)

"Walking seems fine. It would be utterly boring if we only rely on our powers."

He started his preparations. I am already prepared so I don't have much to do. But he is sharing his life story with me. Maybe he needs someone to listen to him. I also wanted to know about him so it's a good opportunity.
