Chapitre 54: Chapter 51 Date II
Scenes of her mom's death started flashing in her head. They were both hostages in a dark warehouse. Her mom was shot in the dark place and all she could hear was the gunshot followed by the sound of her mom falling dead on the ground.
She felt large hands hugging her and giving her the comfort she desperately needed. He patted her head softly while stroking her back.
The workers who played the zombie characters could only stand and stare at them. They felt guilty for what they did but who knew the girl would react that way.
Ethan got up from his crouching position.
"Which of you touched my woman" he yells. The workers whimpered in fear. Cold sweats broke from their forehead, they felt the aura in the room turn extremely cold and suffocating.
His dark red eyes looked deep into their souls. With swift movements, he grasped one of the workers by his neck lifting him above the ground.
"Please I didn't mean to hurt her, I was only doing my job" the man begged for his life.
"Doing your job uh" Ethan broke into a devilish grin which made the workers to shiver In fear. "How many seconds do you think it will take to rip that head of yours out of your body".
The man sweats even more and he became even more scared "Please... I promise to quit this job, please spare my life* the man's pleas fell on deaf ears as Ethan's grip on his neck tightened even more. The man's veins popped on his forehead as he tried to catch his breath. All of a sudden, he was dropped mid air making him fall flat on the floor. Him and the rest of the workers didn't need to be told to scurry away from there.
Ethan felt Betty's small hands curl around his arms.
"That's enough" Betty said and Ethan hugged her. Though she was very much traumatized by it, that didn't mean an innocent cosplayer had to suffer for it.
The duo came out of the hunted house and the zombie characters that were there made way for them. Ethan gave the man a deadly stare and he immediately bowed his head down.
As they walked around the park, people stared at them non stop. Ethan brought out his phone from his pocket and he made a call before ending it after a few seconds.
"Are you okay?" his voice was filled with concern.
"Yeah, am fine. Thanks" she said in a low voice but loud enough for Ethan to hear. She fought so hard to control her facial color, She was more than embarrassed. if Sujim were to witness what had happened, he would have in no doubt hit her with a walking stick.
"Anytime" Ethan smiled. Betty noticed the people at the park started rushing to the entrance of the park.
"What's going on Mr Stark?" Betty asked.
" I shut the park down for us" he said.
"Why?* Betty asked, she didn't see any reason for him to do such.
" I want our date to be a little more private. Since I can't have you with me in an enclosed room, on the bed, I should at least be able to do this at least".
Betty's lips parted but no words came out, how could she have forgotten how shameless this man was.
Meanwhile back in Jarad's villa..
Evie's face contoured as she slowly regained consciousness. Everything was blurry at first, her view became clearer slowly. She tried to get up but she felt a sharp pain from her back. She placed her hands on her forehead as she tried to calm her breathing.
"Hey relax* Jarad came to stand in front of her, he sat close to her on the bed. "Tell me where it hurts" he said in a coaxing tone.
A tear slipped pass her eyes as she remembered what had happened "Am sorry" she apologized. If she had listened to Jarad and stayed by his side, none of those things would have happened.
"I should be the one saying that, i was supposed to protect you but I didn't " he tucked a strand of hair that hovered on her face behind her ear. "I won't let anything happen to you again, I promise Evie" he brought her hands to his lips and kissed it.
"You changed my clothes" Evie frowned.
"I had to" he placed his hands on her lips. "You can scold and yell at me when you get better" he removed his fingers from her lips. *Where does it hurt" he asked again.
"M... my back" she said softly. He saw her naked again, why did the universe have to keep punishing her.
"I didn't see you naked Evie" he replied her thoughts. "I had made sure to shut my eyes". He got up from the bed and carried her in his arms bridal style.
"Where are we going?" Evie asked.
"You'll see".
He teleported them to the front of a house, they were surrounded by tall trees. Evie starred at him with parted lips.
"What? you are not the only one with tricks under your sleeves". he smirked. He knocked on the door softly with Evie in his arms.
A young witch girl opened the door for them, she gave a slight bow to the demon in front of her. She led them into the house.
"Please sit while I go call miss Irene" she pointed at the sofa, the young witch rushed to fetch her superior.
Jarad carefully laid Evie on the sofa. A woman with long red hair came into the room. She was a beautiful lady with sharp features, she wore a long silver gown.
"Lord Amileus" the lady bowed slightly.
"Nice to see you again Irene" Jarad said. "My girlfriend here is sick and needs treatment*.
Evie's lips pursed , even when she was ill he still didn't want to miss an opportunity to poke and tease her.
