Chapitre 10: Vixen
Hours earlier at VIXEN'S Apartment, a short distance away from Memphis entertainment's Seoul office.
"I just got back from the board meeting and_" Manager Yoo said when she was interrupted by Shin Chung-Ae
"Unnie when are we debuting, Are we ever going to debut?"
"Yes, you will. Why would you think that you won't?" Manager Yoo replied
"We heard about all the new changes Miss Kim Ae-ri is making..... after she changed both our manager and the rest of our team... I thought we would be next", Kang Mira, the new youngest in the group and the newest addition before Hwang Nari that is said in a quiet voice.
Park Sun-Hi sneered and rolled her eyes, "Funny how you are the first to talk when you are the newest member here. Shouldn't we, who have been trainees for over 4 years and thanks to a nationwide survival show faces the possibility of public embarrassment if we fail to debut be the most concerned? How come you have the loudest voice in here?"
Kang Mira pressed her lips into a thin line and looked down at the hand on her lap. Choi Yumi who stood by the window frowned as she glanced from their new teammate to Park Sun-Hi.
She stepped away from the window and walked to Kang Mira. "Sun-Hi, maybe let us hear what Unnie has to say."
Park Sun-Hi glared at Yun-mi and looked away. Manager Yoo's expression darkened at the exchange, she immediately took note of the Exchange. Park Sun-Hi's attitude seemed to have worsened, she intended to speak with Sun-Hi before things worsened.
"Your Debut has been shifted to 12th November, you will be debuting as a group of six. The final member has been decided, she will move in on Monday next week", Manager Yoo said.
Manager Yoo leaned backwards on the black single couch beside the interlocked couch of the same colour in the small living room. She had changed out of her casual work clothes to a green tracksuit, her contact lens switched to round metal wired eyeglasses. Seated on the interlocked couch were two slender trainees dressed in loose shorts and sweatshirts. They sat on both ends of the table while listening intently to their manager's words.
The taller trainee dressed in black held up her face with her right hand, "Who is the new addition, is it Jia?"
Madam Yoo shook her head, "No, Bitna. You know that Jia is not suitable for this group. She will be a Liability if she debuts with you, especially after the scandal. We signed a new artist from G_"
"Another new artist!"
The leader of VIXEN, Bitna rolled her eyes, "what is wrong with getting a new artist Sun-Hi? With the company's reputation, you should be lucky that we can get new members. it is not like we have a pool of trainees to choose from".
Shin Chung-Ae chuckled, "don't mind Sun-hi I think the wait is finally getting to her. She nearly bit off my head this morning when I rushed out of the bathroom".
Choi Yumi stepped forward and glared at Sun-hi as she said, "Wait or not, I don't think it is right for her to attack Mira so often. As a member of this group, Mira has every right to be worried. That has nothing to do with her length of training time".
"Ah, spoken like the true peacemaker and mother of the group", Shin Chung-Ae grinned and gave her a thumb up. "Honestly, the only thing Chairman Kim got right with us was only our Personas".
Miss Yoo didn't say anything, she was used to how these four behaved. She opened the fridge and took out a bottle of water, unscrewed the cap and gubbed it down.
Bitna quietly watched her group mates make jabs at each other, finally, when things were getting too far she stepped in and changed the topic, "Unni, if it is not a trainee from the company, who is the final member of the group?"
Manager Yoo placed the bottle of water on the dining table, "She was a trainee from GK entertainment and a member of their Pre-debut melody group".
"GK entertainment? Well at least we are sure that she can sing. It is not like we want another Danbi".
"Chung-ae!", Manager Yoo said eyes narrowed.
Shin Chung-ae rolled her eyes, "like you are not all secretly glad those two left. I know I was".
"Tsk tsk tsk, how is it that people think you are so sweet? Sun-Hi muttered earning her a jab at her side by Chung-Ae. She blew Chung-ae a kiss and turned to their manager to ask, "What is this new teammate of ours called and how old is she?"
"Her name is Hwang Nari and she is 22 years".
"Korean age or international age?"
"International age", Miss Yoo replied.
"So that makes her 22 years!" She glanced at Bitna, "Damn, unni. looks like you are no longer the oldest in the group".
Bitna picked up the pillow beside her and threw it at Sun-Hi, "I am the same age as Yumi dummy!"
"But you are 4 months older than her"
"Idiot", Chung-Ae muttered.

Eunsun private community, Penthouse 12
Kim Aeri got home at 10 pm, she unstrapped her 4-inch white stilettos as soon as she got into her apartment. She sighed as her feet touched the soft furry bottom of her pink bunny house slippers, the previously dim sensor lights in her apartment brightened as she walked into the living room. She kept her bag on the couch, picked up the remote and turned on the television. She rubbed her eyes gently and fell on the golden-brown couches, the late-night news was ongoing on DBS prime. She watched silently while lying on her side, her eye grew heavy after a few seconds.
She quickly opened her eyes seconds later at the sound of a message coming in. She stood, rushed to the single couch and took out her smartphone. She tapped on the new message, frowning slightly as she read the content. The message was from her assistant, a director she had invited to take on one of the company's upcoming projects who had declined their invitation. She sighed at the director's flimsy excuse and closed the message tab. She looked down at her brother's profile and just like the last time she had checked. He was yet to reply to her messages, she locked the phone at kept it on the table.
